There's no place like home

I bought these American Crafts Remark 3D stickers at Big Lots. I loved the colors and all the cute little images you get!

I knew exactly what I wanted to do with this "No place like home" sign. I added some Strawberry Cupcake Trendy Twine to make it able to hang on the door.

I used all kraft cardstock and I scored the "panels". I then inked it with Ranger's Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

My sister reminded me that I needed a door knob!

Happy Mother's Day

I absolutely love how this card turned out! I sewed it all by myself too.. I just started using a "grown up" sewing machine. It works much better than the paper crafting ones!!

I used 5 different collections on this card and they all worked SO well together!

I used..
  • Pink Paislee - House of Three - Daily Junque Collection
  • Advantus - The Girls Paperie - Paper Girl Collection
  • Crate Paper - Paper Hearts
  • Crate Paper - Restoration
  • Sassafras - Indie Girl

I didn't adhere the hearts other than the stitching. I did however adhere about 1/4 of an inch between each heart so they wouldn't slide while I was stitching them.

Mojo Monday #238 & Clean & Simple #187

A friend asked if I could make a card for her friend who recently had surgery.. she wanted a manly card which would showcase some John Mayer lyrics. I made the lyrics the background.

I used Mojo Monday's Sketch #238 for this card.

I can't tell you the amount of times I used this quote.. I LOVE it!

"Where do Mothers learn all the things they tell their Daughters not to do?"

I used Clean & Simple's sketch #187 for this one.

I used two different size pop dots to lift the bigger circles a tiny bit higher than the smaller ones.

I made this card on 5.29.08 ...almost 4 years ago!

This is my new one! Not only is there a difference in the card, but the photo too!

This is a very easy, quick card to make. If you're ever walking out the door and realize you forgot to make a Birthday card, this should be your go to!

Instagram: April 16 - 22

Doesn't everyone have a ton of dried roses on an old corn sheller in their living room? No?

I don't like that I have to take pain medicine. I don't like that it's the first thing I do after waking up. But, I'm also lucky enough to have insurance and that I can afford to get it so it gets me through the day! Gotta look on the bright side of all this nonsense.

My curls.

Peppers.

I'm missing Disneyland! I drew this at the Animation Academy at California Adventure.

A bottle of campaign at a wedding shower.

The last thing that I bought were these black sandals from Tilly's.

Guest Designer for Sweet Sunday Sketch!!

I am so very excited to be the Guest Designer for Sweet Sunday Sketch #157!

SO VERY EXCITED!

I wanted to thank Karen Giron for this opprotunity.. it means more to me than you'll ever know! In most of my posts that I've posted about her sketch challenge, I've expressed how much I love her sketches, so this is a real pleasure for me! Okay, on to the card!!

I used Delight Thickers for the sentiment, to match the background.

I used a "real live" sewing machine for the first time! I've used my Pixie, which is for Paper Crafting, but never a "big girl" one! I love how it came out!

I love making zipper flowers. They never end up the same and that's the best part!

To create this flower...
  • Cut a 10 inch piece of zipper
  • Use thread the same color as your zipper
  •  Run a stitch along to opposite end of the zipper part
  • Pull tight
  • Pull or let loose a bit to create the shape you want
  • Finish it up by sewing the layers together
  • Optional: Add a gem, or a peal or a button and ta da!

Here is the card I made on 4.11.11

I made this card on 4.11.12, creepy, right? lol.

This card is also for the April Card Challenge for the Bonus category which was to create a card with a joke as the sentiment. I used my 4 year old niece's favorite joke. Come to think of it, I think it's only her favorite cause it's the only one she knows!! She always tries to make up knock knock jokes but they never really work out. Although, she thinks they are hilarious!

Joke: How do birds learn to fly?
Answer (inside): They just wing it!

Time for more Instagram photos!

One thing about me.. I do have a lot of things, in my wallet and in my room and bathroom and all that, but I am very organized when it comes to all of it!

I think I was 4 or 5 here.

I literally stuck my phone in the freezer and "click!".

See my lonely little wrapper over there? I ate Breakfast with my nieces, like most mornings!

Klayre is in the "lets take everything and hide it" phase. This day she took a flattened box, 2 of my Dad's jackets and his shoes and put them under the table. Later that day I went to get my keys and I went right to her and said "where are my keys?" She went right to them. lol. If anything is missing, we just ask her where it is!

This one is kind of an inside thing!

Happiness...

I used Sketch #156 at The Sweetest Thing for the Sweet Sunday Sketch.

Sentiment: Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.

Instagram: April 1-7

Can you see me? The first time I took the picture it came out blurry then I forgot about it until it was getting dark!

Oh so pretty!
You've got mail!

Ohhh this little girl! This was at her Pre-School "Spring" Party.

How can you not smile looking at this one? For Dodgers opening day, I put her in her Dodger onesie! So, she was a "tiny" fan.

Chicken Noodle soup with soyaki for lunch.. SO good!

I racked my brain trying to think of a cool way to make a shadow. I have a bunch of doilies I got at a garage sale hanging around, so I went with that!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter! I hope you all are having a lovely day!

Here's my eggs!! I put rubber bands around them and then put them in the dye. I love how they came out!

We had a very yummy brunch at my Sister & Brother in Laws house.

I made the place cards with paint chips! I found it HERE on Pinterest after a friend posted it on Facebook. I then went to 3 different stores to steal paint chips! =]

Look at the cute jewelry I made Klayre out of Jelly Beans! Have left over Jelly Beans? You can find the Pinterest tutorial HERE.

My niece has a cute little retro kitchen and sooo much play found that I thought she needed a grocery bag! I made it out of a Bath & Body Works bag. Instead of Trader Joe's, it's Trader Klayre's!

Here is another Pinterest find! I bought a hard page kids book at our local Thrift Store for $ .25! Then I bought Chalkboard Paint. It's the same price at Joann's as it is at Home Depot, but at Joann's, you can use a 40% of coupon, which takes off $2.80, not too shabby!

I sanded the pages, wiped them off with a damp cloth and spray painted them. One of the pages must not have been dry, cause it stuck together. Instead of starting over, I just put photos on those pages of my niece and all our family.
