Guest Designer for Sweet Sunday Sketch!!

I am so very excited to be the Guest Designer for Sweet Sunday Sketch #157!

SO VERY EXCITED!

I wanted to thank Karen Giron for this opprotunity.. it means more to me than you'll ever know! In most of my posts that I've posted about her sketch challenge, I've expressed how much I love her sketches, so this is a real pleasure for me! Okay, on to the card!!

I used Delight Thickers for the sentiment, to match the background.

I used a "real live" sewing machine for the first time! I've used my Pixie, which is for Paper Crafting, but never a "big girl" one! I love how it came out!

I love making zipper flowers. They never end up the same and that's the best part!

To create this flower...
  • Cut a 10 inch piece of zipper
  • Use thread the same color as your zipper
  •  Run a stitch along to opposite end of the zipper part
  • Pull tight
  • Pull or let loose a bit to create the shape you want
  • Finish it up by sewing the layers together
  • Optional: Add a gem, or a peal or a button and ta da!

Happy Birthday Amanda!

I have some exciting news! A friend of mine Amanda, who I met on Scrapbook.com, is starting a new thing on the blog featuring artists. She was sweet enough to ask me to be the first! So very excited! Here's the post!

If you've followed my blog for a while, you know I'm a big fan of Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketches. She makes such fun and inspirating sketches! So this one is for Sweet Sunday Sketch #111.

This card is for my cousin Amanda for her 22nd Birthday, she's already received it, so you don't have to keep this one a secret like Annas! =]

I told you more zipper flowers were on the way!

So, this was the first time I used American Crafts Zing embossing powder. I LOVE it. It covers extremely well and as you can see, looks awesome!

I used the sketch #102 on The Sweet Stop Challenge Blog. As you can see, I can't stop with the zipper flowers! And there are even more to come! This card is for my cousin Anna, but her Birthday isn't until the 21st, so shhh, don't tell her about the card!!

I love these foam thickers! Even if they weren't this awesome color, I'd still like it!
