If I had my life to live over again..

I'm back from a long blog break. Did you like how it sounds like I planned it? Life got in the way of blog posts! Life getting in the way of the fun stuff, don't you just hate that?!

Then a week or so ago, the one and only Susan Opel invited me to join a facebook group to play along with the challenges on My Favorite Things blog. And if she invites you, you play! Period. {SHE'S PRETTY DARN AWESOME YA KNOW..}

The boyfriend and my 4th Anniversary was on January 8th, so I made this one for him. Here's a picture of us at California Adventure on the 9th celebrating.

LOVE THIS BOY SO MUCH!

And here's my card! I love this quote and have been saving it for the perfect occasion!

The heart paper is I love you this much by Carta Bella from their Devoted collection.
The grid paper is Daily Stories collection by Teresa Collins.
The "true story" stamp is from Elle's Studio & the cork arrow is from Studio Calico. Last but not least, the cut chipboard heart is from Pink Paislee.

Goodbye, Miss Moxie Fab!

Welcome!! Hopefully, you came here from Annette's blog, which you can find HERE.

It's true. No more Moxie Fab World from the one and only Cath. I remember when I read her blog post {check it out HERE if you haven't read it yet} and said "noooo!" out loud. I've always enjoyed reading Cath's blog. I've only participated in a few of the challenges, although I always have good intentions to! There were many I did and then didn't get to post them in time.

The Moxie Fab World was always a burst of fresh air. Whether it be a cute picture, an inspirational quote, a trendy item or a new Moxie Fabber of the Week, it was always a pleasure to read.

I had the privilege of meeting Cath at Winter 2013 CHA. {Yeah.. I still can't believe it either.} I got to go just out of plain luck and was thrilled to meet the whole Paper Crafts team. I had won World Card Making Day a couple months before so that made it even more special. I saw Cath, Susan Opel & Jennifer Schaerer when I was getting my ticket and was too nervous to say Hello! They're like celebrities of the Paper Crafting world! When I finally did meet them, Susan introduced me to everyone and she asked if I would like to meet Cath. I believe my response was "uh huh!". So I was introduced and she asked my last name and when I told her she said "Oh yeah, I know who are you". GULP. I said "You do!?"

 Here we are!

I didn't have time to make a card this week, but I picked one of my favorite Thank You's I've ever made. And, it just happened to be from a Moxie Fab World Challenge called "Hooked on Hexagons".

I wanted to say a special thank you to you Cath, for all these years of inspiring all of us. You will truly be missed!

Next up is Amy! Check out her blog, HERE.

World Card Making Day 2012 Winner Blog Hop!!

Welcome to My Wise Designs!

The good news? You made it to the end! The bad news? You made it to the end

If you're following the Blog Hop list, you should have come from the blog of Stasia Sloma.

Designers in this Blog Hop...

I want to take you back a year to last World Card Making Day. I only get to see my boyfriend on the weekends and I decided to stay home so I could participate! That day in the mail, I just happened to get the washi tape and the stamp that I used on my card. Fast forward a month when acceptance e-mail went out. We had just got back from a cruise and I checked my e-mails and didn't see anything. In the next couple hours, I kept receiving 40+ more e-mails at a time. I was sitting, waiting for the boyfriend to get out of the bathroom when I saw it... I freaked out! It was just as exciting as I always dreamed it would be!

This was not only my first World Card Making Day, but it was my first time being published as well!

I of course framed my card, the issue and the letter from Paper Crafts Magazine!

Here's my card, up close!

Don't forget to enter the World Card Making Day contest! Remember, you can't win unless you enter! It is a nerve wracking thing to submit a card, but.. do it anyway! Don't be afraid that it's not good enough or people won't like it. As submitters, we don't know exactly what they're looking for! My advice for helping your card to be picked is look at the trends right now. Whether it be scrapbooking trends, or patterns in fashion, you card needs to have something that stands out! Think outside of the box. Don't do something you've seen. Make a card that you yourself would want to receive! And as always, don't forget, have fun with it!

Check out the rules and the HUGE prize package, World Card Making Day 2013!

Who's ready for a card?!

Like last years card, I used lots of patterns. I knew the sentiment I wanted to use and then found this INCREDIBLY cute camera paper by Bella Blvd. in their "Snapshots" Collection, called My Point of View.

Is that paper not to die for?

The chevron paper is also from Bella Blvd. and it's called Daily Chevies. They have them in all colors too! The pink polka dot is from My Mind's Eye and it's from the collection "Kate & Co.". The cute vertical strips are Fancy Pants' "Memories Captured" line and the paper is called My Camera.

The note tag is from Elle's Studio. If you haven't seen their products, go check them out! This tag is from their "Chic Note Tags".

The sentiment is 2 separate stamps. The smile is from an old Fiskars set and the "It's your Birthday" is from our prize last year from Lil' Inker Designs.

I stitched every paper together with a zig zag stitch and then stitched around the sides!

Don't forget to check back in with Paper Crafts Connection, they're having a giveaway! GO GO GO!

Happy Birthday Dad!

I am still alive! I took an unplanned, 2 month break from blogging. It wasn't intentional, but I got so busy that I literally had no time at all to post! Things have started to slow down, so I'm back!

Today is my Dad's Birthday... look how cute he is! We got him a Birthday pin from Disneyland when we went on Sunday. He's wearing it proudly!

I used 3 challenges on his card! Here they are..

For this card I used a plethora of manufacturers! I used Studio Calico, Bo Bunny, My Mind's Eye, Simple Stories & October Afternoon!

The sentiment if from Maya Road and the cute little cupcake is from Hero Arts.

See you sooner than later!

Cayden Ann

I got an order to make a little ones 1st Birthday card! The only request was it was to have Tiffany blue on it.

I used Stampin' Up!'s "Crumb Cake" for a base, as I always do!

I stamped it with a foam stamp {they were recently given to me, I'm not sure of the manufacturer} and some white paint. I added the scallop circles and then sprayed the card with Heidi Swapp's new Color Shine in Teal.

I then stamped the Happy Birthday and the 1 and added the "st" from Basic Grey's Micro Monogram Alphabet Stickers. I added chipboard Thickers that are white glitter and the font is Delight.

Donation Cards!

I made these cards to donate to a Dog Rescue who was having a raffle for baskets of all sorts! The cards I donated were for the "dog" Basket! Here are the cards.. I used sketches for 3 of them.

The bottom right is my own personal sketch from April of 2010, you can find it, HERE.
The top right and bottom left are Hero Arts April 2012 Sketch Challenge. You can find those, HERE.
The top left was all me! =]

I wanted this set of cards to all have one of the same papers. I picked Echo Park's "Woof" Collection. I just love that dog bone paper!

Here's the basket they were put in.. cute, huh!

Thank You Card

If you've been following me for a while, you know that I love me some My Mind's Eye!

I was looking on My Mind's Eye Blog for inspiration for a Thank You card and found Danni Reid's card that was inspired by one by Lisa Wilkinson. You can see them both, HERE.

I just realized that I didn't use any My Mind's Eye on this card! lol.

I did however use Pink Paislee's "Inspire" paper and We R Memory Keeper's "Travel Log".

I stitched vellum over the "Travel Log" paper and placed some sequins underneath.

I used Elle's Studio, October Afternoon & Jillibean Soup for the sentiment area.

I finished it off with a Studio Calico Wood Veneer that I inked red and put some Crackle Accents on.

Happy Birthday!

Do you ever make a card or any project and you just LOVE it? That's how I feel about this card. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!

Unfortunately, it's not my design! But if you've been following my blog for a while, you know that I lift a lot of cards. I don't know which I like more.. lifting or sketches!

I lifted a card by Summer Fullerton called Christmas Blessings, which you can see, HERE.

I absolutely adore that floral paper from Basic Grey's Out of Print collection and this paper is called "Storyteller". LOVE it. Did I say that already? Not to mention GCD Studio's "Priscila" chevron paper from their Oh Happy Day collection.

I used another paper from Basic Grey's "Out of Print" collection, some My Mind's Eye for the pink scallops and that super cute pointing sticker is from October Afternoon's "Farmhouse" Label Stickers.

I stamped Papertrey Ink's "It's A Celebration" for the sentiment and finished it up with some stitching and some Sunflower Yellow rhinestones.

Happy Birthday Ayron!!

Tonight we went out to Market Broiler to celebrate Ayron's Birthday. Ayron is a friend of the boyfriends! And he's a quite hilarious one at that!!

Here's our appetizers... Crab stuffed Won Tons.. They were as good as they look! I somehow scraped and cut the roof of my mouth on these too.. Oops. Still worth it!

I had Shellfish Pasta for dinner... It had huge pieces of lobster in it!!

On to the card.. If you've been reading my blog for a while, you know I don't like making "boy cards"!! I don't know if it's because I have mostly all girly products or what, but it seems so tough when it's time to make a "boy card"!!

Here's Ayron and his card!

For the card, I used Stampin' Up!'s Crub Cake for the base and sprayed it with Smooch Spritz in Mossy Mist. I used My Mind's Eye & Pink Paislee paper. The stamp is from Fiskars and the super cute arrow Washi Tape is from Freckled Fawn.

Have you heard of the Washi SwapEvent that's going on at The Feckled Fawn blog?? It's where you send washi tape and get the same number back. I'm going swap 5! Check it out, HERE.

Happy Valentine's Day Joey!

This is the card I made the boyfriend for Valentine's! Do you see what I did? Or didn't do? I had a total sewing fail! I sewed the 3 sides and then needed to put all the stuff on first so I could sew over the papers on the right.. so my plan was to do that. I put it all on and forgot.

He wouldn't have even noticed if I hadn't said anything, but by that time I had already posted my #sewingfail on Instagram!!

For this card I used Basic Grey's "Basic Manila" 6x6 stack for the background.

Both of the blue papers are from My Mind's Eye. I made the Polaroid out of Core'dination's "White Wash" paper.

This card is for the February Card Challenge for Sketch. Here's the sketch I made for this month..

I turned the sketch on it's side for my card.

TO MAKE YOUR OWN POLAROID

I eyeballed the size and used a ruler to make the square on the back. I cut a "X" and cut at the lines!

I then inked the edges and a little bit of the center with a make up sponge, using Vintage Photo Distress Ink. Perfect name, right?

The awesome detail stamp is from Elle's Studio. Go check out (and buy) some of their products if you haven't already! It's a great company and the products are just plain awesome.

The wooden heart veneer is from Studio Calico. I inked it up with some red ink!

Have you ever had an epic fail like this on a project? If so, please share it so I feel better! lol.

HAPPY Birthday

I had this idea in my head to make a kid's Birthday card with an arrow of some sort.. this is what I came up with!

I used My Mind's Eye "Happy Days" Stamps from their Kraft Funday collection. I embossed the stamp in clear and repeated it down the paper.

For the sentiment, I used October Afternoon's "Mini Marketplace Alpha Stickers" in green & cream. I also used "Niki Riki" Glitter Thickers.

I added a red ribbon with white stitching on the edges.

I used the great arrow from Fancy Pants' "Snipes & Snails" chipboard pack. I embossed it in light blue and used some Crate Paper behind the stars.

I finished it off by stitching around the edges.

Miss You a TON

Have you been liking my everyday posts? I have so much to share that I thought I'd do everyday for about a week! Hope you're enjoying it!

I made this card for Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #169, another wonderful sketch by Karen Giron.

The back ground paper I used is from Bo Bunny's Peacock Lane collection.

I used Echo Park's "Vintage Fans" (the wood paper) also.

That cute elephant is from Autumn Leaves embellishments called Wet & Wild.

The stamps are Close to my Heart and KI Memories.

I added some washi tape that I decided to get creative with and layer it!

I also added some mini brads and stitching to finish up the card.

World Card Making Day Cards!

Did you all have a good World Card Making Day? What did you do?

I stayed at home and made cards like crazy! I want to share the ones I took pictures of while it was still light out!

These cards are also for the 20/20 October Challenge

I made this cute little owl out of My Mind's Eye "The Sweetest Thing" paper and added a little Echo Park's "Everyday Eclectic".

I made this card for Paper Smooches WCMD Contest #1, to create a card with pink on it.

I used some black buttons for the eyes and some Echo Park for the beak!

I of course put a Pink Ribbon on her wing.

I just couldn't help my self with the sentiment!

Last but not least! A thank you - IOU card using Crate Paper, Echo Park & Elle's Studio.

Last night while I was falling asleep, I had an idea to use a negative on top of some patterned paper. I was too lazy to get up and sketch it out and I hoped that I wouldn't forget it in the morning! Luckily, I remembered! I think it would look cute with hearts too.. I'm going to have to try that as well!

I used a piece of Echo Park's This or That's "Ticket Please", it's a full sheet of old tickets, telegrams, library cards and things or that sort. I don't know if you can see it with this photo, but I used a deposit!

The thank you stamp is from an old Fiskars stamp set and the Thickers are called Sunrise! I used Crackle Accents on top of the letters to give them a little texture.

Is anyone keeping count of how many times I've mentioned Elle's Studio on this point? lol. It seems like a ton! I used their Lil' Snipplets: Tiny Note Labels. I also used some Crate paper and some washi tape for little banners!

Love you to the MOON & back

A customer requested a Birthday card for her 18 year old Grand-daughter. She always said the saying "I love you to the moon & back" to her so she wanted that on the front of the card.

This is for the September Card Challenge for Technique which is Embossing Resist.

I used Tim Holtzs' Distress Ink in Broken China to do the sky. I used a make up sponge to sponge blue around the whole background. Then, the further from the moon I went, the darker I made the ink.

I stamped on some Wash Tape and made a little banner with the Birthday Girl's name on it.

I knew I wanted the title to more than one font. I used some KI memory stickers (the pink), some October Afternoon's Mini Market stickers and some Niki Riki Yellow Thickers.

I made a mistake & I'm sorry

I made this card for a customer that said they had made a big mistake and needed a card to show that.

I made a flower out of pencil erasers and stitched the stem and the leaf, filling the leaf in with Pebbles Inc. shimmer chalk.

I printed the sentiment and stapled it on with Making Memories staples and stapler. I also added some Heidi Swapp Decorative Tape under it and finished it off with stitching around the card.

A special sunday post!

I made this card for Mojo Monday #258

This is also another for the September Card Challenge for Product, which is washi tape.

It's for a friend who will give it to her husband and will be celebrating their 3rd Wedding Anniversary this week!

Thank You!

More lifts from Pinterest? You betcha! There's so many great cards on there.. I just can't stop!

I lifted Cassie D'ambrosio's "Congratulations" card and turned it into a Thank You.

I used all Basic Grey's "Nook & Pantry" line. The stamp is from Fiskars.

you color my world SO BRIGHT

I made this for the September Card Challenge for Photo Inspiration.

I cut the hearts using my Cricut and the Doodle Charms cartridge. I used Crate Paper, Echo Park, K&Co. & October Afternoon.

I finished it up with some stitching, a button and three yellow 1/2 pearls!
