Bar Code Birthday Card

Happy Sunday!

I completely forgot to set up a post for yesterday, sorry about that!

For this card, I used a font as my focal point. The font is called "Barcode Font" and you can find it, HERE.

I'm not positive on the paper... I'm pretty sure it's We R Memory Keepers though!

I roughed up the edge with an edge distresser, stitched around the edges and added some Strawberry Cupcake Trendy Twine (check them out if you haven't already!) with a button of which I adore the color!

A Sonic Birthday!

Don't worry.. I'm still alive! Sorry for the week of no posts!

I made a Sonic card and Sonic wallet for a friend's son. I absolutely LOVE how this card came out! I can't draw at all, so here's what I did... I Googled Sonic and when I printed out the imagine I liked. I then cut it apart and traced the shapes on the colors I wanted to use. If I hadn't done that, it would look nothing like this! lol. For the blue, I used Core'dinations and on the raised piece, I sanded the edges so the core color shows!

If you've never used Core'dinations, here what it is... It's color cardstock that has another color in the core of the paper. So, if you tear the paper or sand the paper, it will show the core color. The core color is on the back so you know what the color is. They sell this at Joann's.

I also made a Sonic Comic Book wallet for him as well.

One loaded post!

I have been a very busy bee this week! I wanted to finish all my cards for the June Card Challenge that I host on Scrapbook.com. I also wanted to submit projects to Scrapbook News & Review so I mixed and matched the challenges up!!

All of the following cards are for SNR's July Call.

The first card up is for the June Card Challenge for Photo Inspiration. This is the photo we needed to get inspiration from this month. I took it on Main St. at Disneyland last month.

One punch, a bunch of pattern paper, a cute cupcake embellishment and a button and ta da! =]

I used American Crafts Remarks, Sweet Tooth. I added Glossy Accents to the cupcake stand and the vanilla frosting. I added Copper Stickles to the chocolate frosting too.

This card is for the June Card Challenge for the Lift Category.

I used Pebbles Inc. felt layered embellishments but had to cut the last layer off cause they're super thick!! For the sentiment, I used October Afternoon's Mini Market Alphabet stickers.

I can't believe my niece is going to be a year old in a week and a half! It went by so very quickly!

She's such a ham!! Look at her little arm.. that was all her, lol.

Last night I had the idea to see if the Cricut would cut duct tape... to my surprise, it DOES!

I used the Accent Essentials Cartridge for these super cute embellishments.

This is the card I made her for her 1st Birthday. It's for the June Card Challenge for Bonus, which was to use duct tape on your card.

I used the circle above to make a pattern on the background of the card.

I used instructions by Beate Johns on Splitcoaststmper's for this Easel Card, which you can find, HERE.

I kind of mixed and matched. There's instructions for a circle card and a square one, but I of course had to be different and mix them! I really like how it came out!

The card all collapses into itself too!

I used October Afternoon's Mini Marketplace Alphabet stickers for the sentiment and stuck a Sunrise Thicker in there too! I coated it with Frosted Lace Stickles. That cute giraffe is from Alphabet soup from My Mind's Eye.

This is the "inside"!

Last but not least is this encouraging/uplifting card. I used the sketch for SNR's sketch call this month. It's also for the June Card Challenge for Technique which is Pleated Paper, which you can find, HERE.

I did the technique on the yellow polka dot paper which I just noticed you can barely see!

Again, I used Pebbles Inc.'s felted layered embellishments and had to cut the bottom layer off.

I absolutely love this sentiment.. to me, it's hilarious! I hope you find it funny too!

"If life gives you lemons, make lemonade. If life gives you ham, don't make lemonade." Isn't that a fun sentiment for an encouragement card? It would sure make me smile!

Birthday Wishes Mom

I made this card for a friend to give to her Mom for her Birthday.

I lifted CaliChris' "Birthday Wishes" on Scrapbook.com, you can see her card, HERE.

I created a background using a border stamp by changing the color from light purple, light yellowish and dark purple. I then colored in the little circles created by the stamp with water color colored pencils.

I used Dear Lizzy Foam Thickers called Fantastic. I added some random stitching also to the top note. Behind the sentiment, I added 2 little fake flower pieces that I was saving for an occasion like this!

I finished off the sentiment with October Afternoon's Mini Market Stickers.

Happy Birthday Dad!

Yesterday was my Dad's Birthday and I lifted the great Kristina Werner's Friday Focus - Birthday Card #4.

The best part about this card, besides it being a quick card to make was that I used all scraps on it!

A little Fancy Pants, a little DCWV, a little October Afternoon, a little Crate and a little American Crafts!

I used Blue Berry Trendy Twine to "tie" it all together.

I wanted to share one of the first cards I made, which was my Dad's Birthday card in 2007. We had started calling him Boot Boy after he out of no where bought a pair of cowboy boots, lol. See the brown around the tags? I used Copper and Brown Sharpies to color them...I knew nothing about Distress Ink back then!!

Clean & Simple #190 & 191

I made this card using the sketch from Clean & Simple #190. For this fun sketch, I used Echo Park & Basic Grey.

The first card I made with this sketch got ruined.. like ruined to where there was no return. I had cut a window and embossed on vellum.. when I went to use the sewing machine, it messed up big time. Oh well!

This ice cream cone is a Basic Grey Woolie from the Lemonade Collection.

For this card I used Clean & Simple's sketch #191.

I created my own background with a Glitz stamp from the pack called Distressing. The G thanks comes from a Studio G chipboard pack that I found for .25 in the clearance rack in Wal-Mart!

I went with the wonderful color combination of orange and blue.. one of my favorites!

I added some Blue Berry Trendy Twine at the bottom of the G for a little texture.

(Made Fresh Daily Wednesday Rewind #2)
I made this card on 5.29.08 ...almost 4 years ago!

This is my new one! Not only is there a difference in the card, but the photo too!

This is a very easy, quick card to make. If you're ever walking out the door and realize you forgot to make a Birthday card, this should be your go to!

July Birthdays!

I made these cards with the awesome sketch from Sweet Sunday Sketch #126. I know I say this all the time, but I LOVE Karen Giron's sketches!

This card is for my cousin Katie, for her 22nd Birthday.

This card is for my Sister's 30th Birthday. She was a bit freaked out about turning the big 3-0.. so I thought I'd have a little fun with her card!

Twenty.

I made this card for my cousin Quinn for her 20th Birthday. Did I really just say 20th? She's the baby of all our cousins, so her being 20 makes me.....uh, older than 20! =]

I used Mojo Monday sketch #187 for this card. If you've followed me for a while, you know how much I love Mojo Monday sketches!

All the printed papers on this card are October Afternoon's Thrift Shop.. such a cute collection! I also used a notions flower from Studio Calico and A journaling tag from Elle's Studio's Vintage Mix & Match Numbers.

I used these teeny tiny K & Co. tags and embossed "wish" on the top one.

Happy Birthday Gene!

I made this card for my cousin Gene's Birthday. I'm horrible at making cards for guys, could be cause I only have girly paper! So, when I saw this card is Peenut 23's "Wish Birthday Card". I lift a lot of her cards and layouts too! I love her style!!

I used Basic Grey's Orgins & Basic Manila Papers. I randomly cut them at different sizes and started to roll them. I hand stitched an "x" for the flame.

I finished off the card with some twine and a stamped tag with an eyelet and some stickles.
