Flower Kick

It seems like I'm on a flower kick these days! First the layered flowers for the baby's layout, then the photo turn one, and now Dahlia Flowers. My friend Amanda on scrapbook.com makes these on the cards she makes and they're just gorgeous. I wanted to see how they would look with a scallop punch, since they're usually done with a regular circle punch. This is how my 1st batch of Dahlia Flowers turned out.

Photo Turn Flower!

I've wanted to make a flower using photo turns for a while. I love how it turned out!!
I'm not so sure about the rest of the card though. What do you think?
Before you see the pictures.. this flower has a funny story attached to it!
I took out 7 photo corners about a week ago, put them on my desk.. and when i went to use them a couple days later, they were no where to be found. Not on my desk, not on my floor.. no where. So a couple days later I went to put my ipod back in it's case, which has a magnet closure on it, and when i turned it over, there were my photo turns!!!

I hand stitched the stems.

21

A customer needed a card for her Grand-daughter, I made that one, then her Mom wanted one for her daughter also! So this is that one.

I used crackle accents on the yellow rose and glossy accents on the lips and some of the X's and on the shadow of the 21 on the white cardstock. The put stickles on the numbers.

It has toule covering the pink cardstock, just for some extra texture.

Layers Of Love

I can't remember what the last layout I made was. I literally can not remember.. and I have a great memory, no matter what anyone else says, lol. I think my last one may have been in July. So it's been a while! I signed up for a Cosmo Cricket Challenge on the scrapbook site so I would HAVE to do one. It's not that I don't like doing layouts, but I'm more into cards now!!

The challenge was to use 95% Cosmo Cricket Products and lots of buttons. The buttons could be any manufacturer and would not count in the 95%.
First, the story on the picture! It was not my intent to make her look like a little old lady, really!! First she had a dress on.. it got a little cooler, so we put leggings on, then socks, then her sweater. She has super tight curls but since it was so cool, I didn't want to wet her hair, so I put her hair up in what we call "puffies".

I love these flowers. They were different Cosmo Cricket papers, even the vellum was from them! I cut them out on the cricut and distressed the heck out of them! I wanted the edges to be white, so i did that first them randomly did other spots. I think if I hadn't done the edges, it wouldn't have taken so long, but it was totally worth it!
This "LOVE" was a part of Cosmo Cricket's "Honey Pie" collection, named Isabel. Yes, I cut it all out, lol. Some with scissors, but mostly with an exacto.

The scallops and the turquoise paper were from a Cosmo Cricket kit I got from HSN a while back. My Mom got it for me for my Birthday I believe it was. And the buttons are just random butons I liked!

Thanks for peeking!!

This weekend's cards

This card is for the May Card Challenge on Scrapbook.com that I'm hosting this month.

It's for the Bonus Category, to make a flower out of something that wasn't purchased as a flower. I used laced, sewed it in a circle glue the tops down and cut them. I used fibers for the leaf and stem.

I stamped the whole card and used a HUGE button for the middle... it's one of the biggest I've ever used on a card!!

The quote reads "The more beautiful discovery true friends make is that they can grow seperatley without growing apart." True Friends is lifted with pop dots.

I cut out where the flower goes (on the front) so when you open the card, the flower will be on the inside.

This one was also for the Card Challenge, for product.. to use anything glittery. I got the idea to use only a stamp from Kristina Werner's You Tube (starofmay). Her cards are amazing.. such an inspiration, and i love her "answer and question" videos.

5 stamps, 1 bottle of stickles, an ink pad and 2 pieces of cardstock. A super simple one for me!

I stamped the flower and cut it out.

Another stamp. Infact all the stamps I used on this card are my sisters. I've been "borrowing" them for months now, lol.

Thanks for peeking!!

Drugged by Parents

I receieved this in an E-mail from my Mom a while ago and had to share it.

Sketch #116 at CPS

This card is Sketch #116 for this week over at CPS. I just found this blog and can't wait to use some more of their sketches! I've been wanting to use this Lime Rickey Paper (by Basic Grey) since I bought it. I distressed the edges of the cardstock then dabbed some dark green ink on them. I punched holes and stiched up the side of the card and used an Alvacado bag behind the printed paper. I of course also used crackle accents all over the card.. love that stuff! Thanks for peeking!

This shows off some of the crackle accents.

I put this little guy on the inside!!

Stamps Galore!

I used all my birthday and letter stamps to create this Birthday card. Thanks for peeking!! =]

Noelle's Request

I got a text from my neighbor Noelle, asking if I could make a card for the birthday of a guy she's been dating. We narrowed it down to what she wanted which was.. A slot machine, and the 3 "slots" to be a cigar, a heart and a old nintendo controller (You know.. the BEST nintendo system ever! Sorry Wii lovers.. but you know I'm right!!). This is how it turned out! Thanks for peeking.

The "Slots"

Can you tell my favorite part was the nintendo controller?? =] I just love it.

The controller is 1 inch by 1/2!

I plan to make a nintendo controller card now.. can't wait!

Ruby's Diner

A customer asked me if I could make a "Ruby's Diner" Card. Not even knowing what Ruby's was, I said of course, lol. Then made an idiot out of myself and said "I don't think we have those here".... later to find out she lives an hour away!! This one was a challenge, I went through about 4 signs before I got one I liked. Thanks for peeking!! =]

I used glossy accents on the red part of the sign and on the Coca-Cola bottle.. it really helped with the Diner/vinyl feel!

Sweat Shop Happenings..

I just adore this one! I made it for the May Card Challenge on Scrapbook.com that I'm hosting this month. I'm a little late with my samples.. but I'm getting there. I got the idea for the card from Splitcoaststampers.com. The tag comes out (it's 3x5) to write your message on.

This is for the Theme Category. The theme this month is Thank You. For a while I've wanted to use the computer to (I don't know the technical word for it) use words make some sideways, so right side up. So... I used stamps and rub-ons to make my Thank You Paper!

...Up Close...

This one is a Sympathy card that Dad asked me to make. Someone from his work passed away and he wanted to send a card to his wife. The man loved fishing, hunting and pretty much all outdoor activities, so Dad asked me to make something that had to do with that. This is what I came up with..
