You Are Fabulous

I went with a picture I took of my 1 year old niece that I took this summer while she was wearing 3D glasses that we got from seeing the movie UP! Here's a picture of my oldest niece wearing them when she was little..

SUCH A HAM!

I made this layout for Scrapbook.com's "Oh Baby! Challenge". You had to make a layout with a baby on it who was younger than 2 years old. The twist this month was to add flowers.

Don't you love the size of that photo? I actually printed it straight from Instagram using an App called "MoPho". You can order prints in 4x4 and 8x8! Like I said, you can choose them directly from Instagram, so even if you don't have the photo in your phone anymore, you can still print it! If you're going to order from there, make sure to look up a promo code first, they usually have one for 10 free prints or free shipping!

I used Simple Stories Sn@p Sticker Labels. I bought 2 packages of them because I LOVE labels! So, you'll be seeing them a lot in the future!

I used October Afternoon's "Mini Markplace Alphabet" Stickers for the title and finished it with a Making Memories Rub-On and some K & Co. stitches Rub-Ons.

I used some American Craft's "Baby Girl" Rub-Ons and My Mind's Eye "On the Bright Side". And one of my favorites.. Pink Paislee's "Junque".

I painted the background with some cream craft paint and sprayed some Tattered Angel's "Chocolate Covered Cherries" Glimmer Mist over it.

Don't you love these flowers? They're actually one BIG Rub-On from Basic Grey's "June Bug" collection. I added some tiny gemstones to the flowers for a little more fabulousness!

I used My Mind's Eye "Love Me" and GCD Studio's "Oh Happy Day".

The label is from Jillibean Soup's "Love The..." Soup Labels.

The last but definitely not least part of my layout is this SUPER CUTE Flair Button! I bought them from Finding Nana. Go check out her Etsy, she has a TON of cute Flair Buttons for sale! I actually found her on Instagram! I bought the Bubble Quote pack (that's used here) and the Noteworthy pack!

Oceans apart day after day & I slowly go insane..

I was asked to make a card for a friend who's girlfriend had to move to Hawaii for a while for work. She always tells him "we're only an ocean away", so this is what I came up with!

Have you heard the song "Right Here Waiting" by Richard Marx? Click on the link if you haven't, it's a really good song!

I used the first two lines in the song for the sentiment on this card.

This card is for the November Card Challenge for Photo Inspiration.

For the waves, I used 4 different patterned papers, they are..
  • My Mind's Eye - Good Day Sunshine
  • My Little Shoebox - Garden Party
  • Pink Paislee - Hot Cocoa
  • Pink Paislee - Tabs

For the clouds, I cut them out of Echo Park's "Kraft Clouds". I used water colors for the background and finished it up by stitching around the edges.

5 Things you may not know about me!

Today, my oldest niece turns 5! I reminded her of the deal we made that she would stay 4 forever, but she said she's turning 5 anyway. She has her own desk in my room and a sign that says "Klaye's Card Shop". She told me her shop was open so I went to order a card (by the way, don't think you can order a card from across the room.. no no, you have to go to the "window"!) and I said I needed a Birthday card for a little girl who is going to turn 4 again. She looked at me and squinted her eyes and said "again?" and I said "Yeah, she turned 4 last year and she's turning 4 again this year" and she said "Let me write you a note to show you how it works". She cut a piece of paper and wrote 4=5. POINT TAKEN.

This is the day after she was born, perfect in every way!

This was about a month ago when we had a sleep over!

So, it's 2:00am and I have yet to make her card, so needless to say, it won't be in my post tomorrow!

I thought I'd share 5 things about me that you may or may not know! Here we go!

1
I wear a flower in my hair every single day. If I don't have one in, it's only because I forgot!

2
I HATE the feel of paper. I took up a great hobby, didn't I?

3
I live 82 miles from the love of my life! Yeah.. that's fun. =] We met on a dating site in January of 2011 and I have no idea how I ever got through life without him.

 4
I've never written a check. I do have some.. they even have Mickey Mouse on them! But, I've never used them. Debit Cards are just too easy!

5
I've had a Disneyland Annual Pass since January of 2010.

In November of 2009, the fam and I all went to Disneyland for my Brother-In-Law's Birthday.. it was the year they let you in free on your Birthday. So we all went and that night my sister was talking about getting a pass. I couldn't let her go alone, so I had to get one too! When I was younger, I never understood why people would spend hundreds of dollars just to go to the same place over and over. But, I get it now. It's not only an incredibly fun place, where I know I'm very fortunate to be, but it's inspiring just to hang out there.

My niece's pass expired early this year and she's been asking for a pass since. My parents are getting her one for her Birthday and she is going to flip out! When we were talking about what she wanted for her Birthday, she said "I want a pass to Cars Land"... not to Disneyland, just to Cars Land!

She will be thrilled to know that I'm taking her to Disneyland on Monday!! I'm super excited about going with her again and really looking forward to having some TT & Klayre time! That darn Jr. Kindergarten, I never see her anymore!! lol.

Happy Birthday Klayre-A-Bell!

Welcome to the world Riley Roy

I made this card for a friend who needed a baby shower card.

I used Sweet Sunday Sketch #171 for this card. If you've been following me a while, you know that I LOVE Karen Giron's sketches!

This cute chipboard elephant is from My Mind's Eye "Alphabet Soup". I made a bow in her hair using Trendy Twine's "Posy". I added some Glossy Accents on the eye and the toes!

I used GCD Studio's "Oh Happy Day" and American Craft's Amy Tangerine's "Prime Time". The stamp is from an old G Studios mini stamp set that I got years ago. The rub ons (under the rhinestones) are from October Afternoon's "5 & Dime". Last but not least, the Thickers are called Delight!

My stitching got a little too close to the edges for my liking! But, it happens!

I used Bo Bunny's "Basic Dot - Blush" for the background. I stamped Glitz's "Distressing" Image and embossed it in clear. But, I only did that AFTER I spilled a good amount of embossing powder all over me!

Season's Greetings!

I have more exciting news to share! I am now a staffer at Scrapbook News & Review Magazine!!

I know, I can't believe it either.. I am so very excited to see what the future holds!

For my card, I used Clean & Simple's Sketch #213.

I knew I wanted to make a Christmas card but I challenged myself to use non-traditional colors.

I used silver, gold and shimmery purple ink for my colors.

I heat embossed the sentiment using American Craft's Zing embossing powder. Zing seems to be the best embossing powder I've used, it leaves the image really crisp!

The sentiment, along with the ornaments are My Minds Eye's from their 12 Days of Christmas line.

I stitched around the base of the card and for the "string" of the ornaments. I added a Queen & Co. 1/2 pearl at the top of each one to give it some dimension.

Glamorous Baby!

I made this card using Clean & Simple #214 Sketch.

I got an order for a baby shower card where the Mom is a makeup artist. I scoured Google and couldn't find any sentiments that had to do with both things! So, I came up with my own. I started with words that had to do with make up and went from there.

I used Basic Grey's Pink Pearl Flourishes and K & Companies Grand Adhesions. Not sure on the line but I will post it when I get home!

I made my own little makeup tray with silver cardstock and craft wire.

I also made the little makeup brush from a skewer that I painted black. I made bristles from the twine that I took apart. I added some pink rhinestones around the bristles and some Pebble's Inc. Glimmer Chalk on the bristles so it would look it was used for blush!

It turns out I can't spell definitely! Luckily, I had time to fix the card  I printed the sentiment on vellum and stitched around the edges. I was glad it went smoothly cause it doesn't always when you're stitching on velum and closing the stitch. Sometimes it will scrunch up at the last spot.

I stamped the base of the card with My Mind's Eye's "Everyday Fun" Stamps.

The Thickers are foam and are called Delight.

Picture this.

Last Sunday, which was the last day of our cruise, I woke up at 4:40am and couldn't go back to sleep. I laid in bed until about 6:30 and finally got up to go get something to eat. While I was eating, I checked my e-mail, which I hadn't got to do in a week! After that I watched the sun rise and it was just breathtaking! Take a look!

After we left our room and went to get my 2nd breakfast and Joey's 1st, lol. While Joey was in the bathroom, I decided to check my e-mail again and found an e-mail that I had always hoped I'd get to see!

Remember Paper Crafts World Cardmaking Day Contest? It turns out that I was one of the winners in the Birthday category! Not only do I get to receive an amazing prize packaged valued at over $400, but I will be published in Paper Crafts Magazine's March/April 2013 issue

My eyes filled up and I couldn't believe it! This is one of those things that I've always wanted but never really thought would happen! When Joey came out of the bathroom, I looked at him with a blank stare and smiled. He probably thought I was crazy, until I handed him my phone so he could read it.

SO EXCITING!

If that isn't enough exciting news, I have more! I am now a staffer at Scrapbook News & Review! It has been quite a week, that's for sure! I am so beyond excited about both of these things, I'm beside myself!

Eye love you!

I found these cute Peanut Butter & Chocolate eyeballs at Winco and knew I had to make something with them! They fit perfectly in a container that I had (that a make up brush came in), so it was meant to be.

I used Bo Bunny's Whoo-ligan's line for the base and the little monster. I added some stickles and crackle accents on the little guy too!

For the sentiment, I used American Crafts Thickers and October Afternoon's Mini Marketplace Alphabet.

I finished it off with a black eyelet and some Trendy Twine in Halloween Orange Licorice.

Hope you all had a fun and safe Halloween!

Thanks so much

How was everyone's week last week? The cruise was excellent! It was probably the best cruise I've been on.. we both had a blast!!

This card is for the October Card Challenge for Sketch & Technique.

It's also for the October 20/20 Challenge.

I found these cute shaped cards at Micheal's a couple months ago.. there's 3 different designs and they were on clearance.. can't get much better than that!

I tried out the technique of Pastels on Black. I'm not sure how I feel about it though!

For the sentiment I used Pink Paislee paper and My Mind's Eye Kraft Funday's Happy Days Stamp Set.

Cute little label on top, which is part of the card base!

I used some Echo Park, Pink Paislee, Studio Calico & My Little Shoebox.

Joey's Cruise Cards - Day 7

How sweet it is to be loved by you

Today is our last day at sea!

Here's last years... check it out!

2011 - Joey's Cruise Cards - Day 7

For this card, I used Fancy Pants and Crate Paper.

For the lollipop, I used trendy twine to make the candy part. First, I ran a small circle through my Xyron and started my Trendy Twine in the middle and kept wrapping it around until I was at the edge of the paper. It was easy peasy!

I used some pop dots under the lollipop to give it some dimension.  I used a toothpick for the bottom and cut some of the top off so it would fit on this little card!!

I printed the sentiment on the computer in two different fonts and finished it off with some stitching.

Joey's Cruise Cards - Day 3

Today is our first day in Cabo San Lucas! We are going on an ATV excursion today! We tried to go last year, but we didn't know ship time and local time were different! We even asked and couldn't get a straight answer, so this time, we are for sure going to make it!!

Here's last years... check it out!

2011 - Joey's Cruise Cards - Day 3

I LOVE this paper! Nevermind that it's chevron pattern.. but my favorite color too?! eek!

I used a font called Smiley Monster for this card.

I filled in the heart with Cotton Candy Stickles and a little bit of Worn Lipstick Distress Stickles.

I finished it up with some stitching and that's it!

2011 - Joey's Cruise Cards - Day 2

For this years card, I used GCD Studio's "Flower Child Plaid" paper and stamped Basic Grey's Cup of Tea Bitsy from their Nook & Pantry collection.

I made a pattern by stamping the spoon over and over to create a background!

I distressed the edges of the sentiment and inked it with some Tim Holtz's Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

I used some Blue Berry Trendy Twine and finished it off with a button!

Joey's Cruise Cards - Day 1

Last year when Joey & I went on our first cruise together, I had the idea to make him a 3x3 mini card and write in one each day and give it to him. I of course had to do the same this year too!

We leave Long Beach at 4:30pm!

Here's last years... check it out!

Last Year - Joey's Cruise Cards 2011 - Day 1

I finished it up by adding a teeny tiny button and stitching around the edges.

Scrapbook Expo Goodies!!

Last weekend I went to the Scrapbook Expo in Ontario, CA. Basically it is local scrapbook stores and small scrapbook businesses selling last years products for cheaper and the next years products as well. This is the first time I've gone to the one in Ontario. For the last 3 years, I've gone to the one in Anaheim. The fact that it's literally right across the street from Disneyland doesn't hurt either!

I left the boyfriend at home and went by myself. By "left him at home", I mean, I told him he wasn't allowed to come with me, lol. 2 minutes in a Scrapbook store, he's asking if I'm ready to leave!!

Everyone that was there got these Mini Glue Dots.

How cute are these stamps?! I couldn't help but get all of them! They're all made by My Mind's Eye. Can you guess how much they were? $2 each! Can you believe that?! Cause I still can't!

I love all these flowers and leaves and for $1.75, I couldn't say no!

I love me some Rub Ons! I don't use them as often as I used to though. I got some Christmas Rub Ons from Stampin' Up and October Afternoon's 5 & Dime Rub Ons.

How cute are the Pink Paislee Rub Ons on the left? There's a sprinkler! So cute! The Rub Ons on the right are from Basic Grey's Olio line.

The one thing I knew I'd be collecting more of is washi tape! I got all of the washi tape from K & Company. I got a yard of that light blue lace and I'm not sure what you call the other stuff! lol. But it looked fun.. it's in a sheet and it's from the craft store, Tall Mouse.

Are you drooling yet? I *LOVE* these stickers from Jillibean Soup! love love love!

Both of these 12x12 sticker sheets are from Echo Park.

How cute is this one?! Oh the possibilities!

Basic Grey's die cut pieces on the left and Fancy Pants Snips & Snails Chipboard on the right!

The Flower Wood Flourishes on the top left are from Kaisercraft. Not positive on the brand of the flowers and I got the Grover embellishments cause Grover is my niece's favorite character on Ses as she calls it. (Even if it's just regular Grover, she calls him Super Grover!)

Alright, on to the paper!

I'm not going to post all the names and collections the papers are from, but I will post the manufacturer! When I create a project with the paper, I will for sure add all the details!!

I got most of this paper for 6 for $1 and about 20 sheets was $.25 each.. there were a couple that I paid "regular" price for as well, but not many.. maybe, 3?

I'm going to post 2 pictures, one will be the front and the next will be the back. Here we go!

Fancy Pants & American Crafts

Fancy Pants & My Little Shoebox

My Mind's Eye - That kraft paper is by far the thickest cardstock I've ever seen! On the bottom photo of the "backs"... the grey chevron is one of my favorites! I got 5 sheets of it, lol.

GCD Studios & Imaginisce (the teal cheveron is one of my favorites I got also!)

Pink Paislee, Pink Paislee & Pink Paislee! =] I got 3 of the dark blue and 5 of the yellow, love those as well!

KI Memories

I've never owned anything from Studio Calico and I LOVED all these prints, so I thought now was the time! It wasn't $5.75 though.. it was $4.00! I was kind of bummed to only see one vendor (that I saw anyway, and I looked at pretty much everything) had Basic Grey 6x6 paper packs. Hopefully they'll have more in January at the Anaheim Expo! I had 4 collections saved in my phone that I wanted to get!!

I really hope you enjoyed all my new goodies! I had a blast buying them and I can't wait to start using them when I get back from vacation! Have a great week everyone!!
