Wishing you a wonderful day!

Hello there! Happy Friday! Sorry I've been among the missing.. I had 2 teeth pulled on Tuesday and have been kind of out of it since. I haven't scrapped at all, just been relaxing and such!

For this card I used Clean & Simple's sketch #37 from 2009. LOVE their sketches, I don't care how old they are!!

How cute is this well? SUPER CUTE, right? It's from Avocado Arts' "Wishes & Kind Thoughts".

I used My Little Shoebox and Echo Park for this card.

The top part of the sentiment is from the same stamp set and the bottom half is from Papertrey Ink's "It's a Celebration".

I finished it up with some stitching around the edges and some Chocolate Truffle Trendy Twine with a metal button!

Warm Wishes

This is the sketch I made for the November Card Challenge. Feel free to use it for your own personal use!

This is the card that I made from the sketch. I used Echo Park's "Winter Park" collection.

This cute snowman is from that collection as well. I used a doily behind him since he is made from one! I used "Waterfall" Stickles on his hat for some sparkle.

The Rub-On is from Stampin' Up!'s "Season of Cheer".

I used a zigzag stitch to connect all the different patterned papers.

Novemeber Card Challenge - Color & Lift

I made this card for the November Card Challenge for color, you can see the color, HERE.

For this card I used My Little Shoebox, Sn@p and KI Memories.

I would have never put these colors together on my own, but I love how they look together!!

The thickers are by American Crafts and are called Netmeg.

The "so much" stamp is from My Mind's Eye "Happy Days" Stamps.

I also stitched together where each paper meets.

I made this card for the November Card Challenge for lift. You can see the card we lifted, HERE.

This card is VERY MUCH out of my comfort zone, but I like it!

You can't really see it, but layered on top of the white paper is vellum that has snowflakes embossed in it.

I used My Mind's Eye "For the Record" Card and used Stampin' Up!'s "Season of Cheer" Rub-Ons for the sentiment. I also added some Bling It Rhinestones from Basic Grey.

The little bird is from an old 3 Birds Rub-On set that came with a cute little clipboard and had this little guy on it. I knew it would come in handy one day! I painted him red and covered him in Doodlebug's Sugar Coating Glitter. I gave him a mini silver brad for an eye.

I used my cricut and the Stretch your Imagination cartridge to cut these leaves. I inked them with Peeled Paint Distress Ink and filled in the berries with Christmas Red Stickles.

Sweet Baby BOY

{happy thanksgiving}

I made this card using Clean & Simple's #216 Sketch.

I also made it for the November Card Challenge for Technique. This months technique was Raster Screen and you can find it, HERE.

I Pebbles Ink Shimmer Chalk for it so it was subtle.

For the sentiment, I used American Crafts Sunrise & Emerald Thickers.

I sprayed the Sunrise Thickers with Smooch Spritz's Vanilla Shimmer.

This cute little guy is from Autumn Leaves. I finished up the card with some Chocolate Truffle Trendy Twine, a button and some stitching.

Mac & Cheesin' it up in Toon Town

Hello Hello!!

Today I have a layout I made with a photo I took of my niece at Disneyland, eating some Mac Cheese as she calls it!

This is for the Scrap the Person Before You Challenge on Scrapbook.com. I lifted GMFTS's "Our Summer Place in the Sun - Emerald Lake".

This is another photo I printed using Mo Pho that I printed straight from Instagram.

If you missed that post about it, check it out, HERE.

I used one of my labels from Sn@p.

For the title, I used Amy Tangerine's Muse Thickers.

The "These are the days" label is from Jillibean Soups "Love the..." labels.

The fun mustache paper is from Hambly, who sadly, is either going out of business or already has.

I made my one photo corners by making a 2 inch square, then cutting it in half. I placed it on its side and cut in about 1/2 of an inch and repeated on the other side so everything is even steven!

HAPPY Birthday

I had this idea in my head to make a kid's Birthday card with an arrow of some sort.. this is what I came up with!

I used My Mind's Eye "Happy Days" Stamps from their Kraft Funday collection. I embossed the stamp in clear and repeated it down the paper.

For the sentiment, I used October Afternoon's "Mini Marketplace Alpha Stickers" in green & cream. I also used "Niki Riki" Glitter Thickers.

I added a red ribbon with white stitching on the edges.

I used the great arrow from Fancy Pants' "Snipes & Snails" chipboard pack. I embossed it in light blue and used some Crate Paper behind the stars.

I finished it off by stitching around the edges.

Welcome to the world Taylyn

I made this card for one of my best customers! When I say best, I mean anytime she needs a card, I get a text! I love it! She needed a baby shower card for a little one and requested grey & lavender as those are the colors for the baby's shower and nursery!

I used Clean & Simple's Sketch #56 for this card.

I love how simple this card is and the fact that it's non-traditional colors for a baby shower card.

For the background, I used My Mind's Eye "On The Bright Side - Brown Stripe". I still see grey, but whatever! lol.

I also used Pink Paislee's "Daily Junque - News" paper and Studio Calico's "Classic Calico" 6x6 pad.

I embossed a dandelion from Autumn Leave's "Fine & Dandy" Stamp set in white for a subtle look.

The "Welcome to the World" is from an old G Studio stamp that I found at Michael's for $1. And let me tell you, I got my moneys worth out of that one!

The Thickers are by American Crafts - Amy Tangerine called Muse.

I used some lavender ribbon that I had and finished it off with some stitching and a light yellow button.

You Are Fabulous

I went with a picture I took of my 1 year old niece that I took this summer while she was wearing 3D glasses that we got from seeing the movie UP! Here's a picture of my oldest niece wearing them when she was little..

SUCH A HAM!

I made this layout for Scrapbook.com's "Oh Baby! Challenge". You had to make a layout with a baby on it who was younger than 2 years old. The twist this month was to add flowers.

Don't you love the size of that photo? I actually printed it straight from Instagram using an App called "MoPho". You can order prints in 4x4 and 8x8! Like I said, you can choose them directly from Instagram, so even if you don't have the photo in your phone anymore, you can still print it! If you're going to order from there, make sure to look up a promo code first, they usually have one for 10 free prints or free shipping!

I used Simple Stories Sn@p Sticker Labels. I bought 2 packages of them because I LOVE labels! So, you'll be seeing them a lot in the future!

I used October Afternoon's "Mini Markplace Alphabet" Stickers for the title and finished it with a Making Memories Rub-On and some K & Co. stitches Rub-Ons.

I used some American Craft's "Baby Girl" Rub-Ons and My Mind's Eye "On the Bright Side". And one of my favorites.. Pink Paislee's "Junque".

I painted the background with some cream craft paint and sprayed some Tattered Angel's "Chocolate Covered Cherries" Glimmer Mist over it.

Don't you love these flowers? They're actually one BIG Rub-On from Basic Grey's "June Bug" collection. I added some tiny gemstones to the flowers for a little more fabulousness!

I used My Mind's Eye "Love Me" and GCD Studio's "Oh Happy Day".

The label is from Jillibean Soup's "Love The..." Soup Labels.

The last but definitely not least part of my layout is this SUPER CUTE Flair Button! I bought them from Finding Nana. Go check out her Etsy, she has a TON of cute Flair Buttons for sale! I actually found her on Instagram! I bought the Bubble Quote pack (that's used here) and the Noteworthy pack!

Oceans apart day after day & I slowly go insane..

I was asked to make a card for a friend who's girlfriend had to move to Hawaii for a while for work. She always tells him "we're only an ocean away", so this is what I came up with!

Have you heard the song "Right Here Waiting" by Richard Marx? Click on the link if you haven't, it's a really good song!

I used the first two lines in the song for the sentiment on this card.

This card is for the November Card Challenge for Photo Inspiration.

For the waves, I used 4 different patterned papers, they are..
  • My Mind's Eye - Good Day Sunshine
  • My Little Shoebox - Garden Party
  • Pink Paislee - Hot Cocoa
  • Pink Paislee - Tabs

For the clouds, I cut them out of Echo Park's "Kraft Clouds". I used water colors for the background and finished it up by stitching around the edges.

5 Things you may not know about me!

Today, my oldest niece turns 5! I reminded her of the deal we made that she would stay 4 forever, but she said she's turning 5 anyway. She has her own desk in my room and a sign that says "Klaye's Card Shop". She told me her shop was open so I went to order a card (by the way, don't think you can order a card from across the room.. no no, you have to go to the "window"!) and I said I needed a Birthday card for a little girl who is going to turn 4 again. She looked at me and squinted her eyes and said "again?" and I said "Yeah, she turned 4 last year and she's turning 4 again this year" and she said "Let me write you a note to show you how it works". She cut a piece of paper and wrote 4=5. POINT TAKEN.

This is the day after she was born, perfect in every way!

This was about a month ago when we had a sleep over!

So, it's 2:00am and I have yet to make her card, so needless to say, it won't be in my post tomorrow!

I thought I'd share 5 things about me that you may or may not know! Here we go!

1
I wear a flower in my hair every single day. If I don't have one in, it's only because I forgot!

2
I HATE the feel of paper. I took up a great hobby, didn't I?

3
I live 82 miles from the love of my life! Yeah.. that's fun. =] We met on a dating site in January of 2011 and I have no idea how I ever got through life without him.

 4
I've never written a check. I do have some.. they even have Mickey Mouse on them! But, I've never used them. Debit Cards are just too easy!

5
I've had a Disneyland Annual Pass since January of 2010.

In November of 2009, the fam and I all went to Disneyland for my Brother-In-Law's Birthday.. it was the year they let you in free on your Birthday. So we all went and that night my sister was talking about getting a pass. I couldn't let her go alone, so I had to get one too! When I was younger, I never understood why people would spend hundreds of dollars just to go to the same place over and over. But, I get it now. It's not only an incredibly fun place, where I know I'm very fortunate to be, but it's inspiring just to hang out there.

My niece's pass expired early this year and she's been asking for a pass since. My parents are getting her one for her Birthday and she is going to flip out! When we were talking about what she wanted for her Birthday, she said "I want a pass to Cars Land"... not to Disneyland, just to Cars Land!

She will be thrilled to know that I'm taking her to Disneyland on Monday!! I'm super excited about going with her again and really looking forward to having some TT & Klayre time! That darn Jr. Kindergarten, I never see her anymore!! lol.

Happy Birthday Klayre-A-Bell!

Welcome to the world Riley Roy

I made this card for a friend who needed a baby shower card.

I used Sweet Sunday Sketch #171 for this card. If you've been following me a while, you know that I LOVE Karen Giron's sketches!

This cute chipboard elephant is from My Mind's Eye "Alphabet Soup". I made a bow in her hair using Trendy Twine's "Posy". I added some Glossy Accents on the eye and the toes!

I used GCD Studio's "Oh Happy Day" and American Craft's Amy Tangerine's "Prime Time". The stamp is from an old G Studios mini stamp set that I got years ago. The rub ons (under the rhinestones) are from October Afternoon's "5 & Dime". Last but not least, the Thickers are called Delight!

My stitching got a little too close to the edges for my liking! But, it happens!

I used Bo Bunny's "Basic Dot - Blush" for the background. I stamped Glitz's "Distressing" Image and embossed it in clear. But, I only did that AFTER I spilled a good amount of embossing powder all over me!

Season's Greetings!

I have more exciting news to share! I am now a staffer at Scrapbook News & Review Magazine!!

I know, I can't believe it either.. I am so very excited to see what the future holds!

For my card, I used Clean & Simple's Sketch #213.

I knew I wanted to make a Christmas card but I challenged myself to use non-traditional colors.

I used silver, gold and shimmery purple ink for my colors.

I heat embossed the sentiment using American Craft's Zing embossing powder. Zing seems to be the best embossing powder I've used, it leaves the image really crisp!

The sentiment, along with the ornaments are My Minds Eye's from their 12 Days of Christmas line.

I stitched around the base of the card and for the "string" of the ornaments. I added a Queen & Co. 1/2 pearl at the top of each one to give it some dimension.

Glamorous Baby!

I made this card using Clean & Simple #214 Sketch.

I got an order for a baby shower card where the Mom is a makeup artist. I scoured Google and couldn't find any sentiments that had to do with both things! So, I came up with my own. I started with words that had to do with make up and went from there.

I used Basic Grey's Pink Pearl Flourishes and K & Companies Grand Adhesions. Not sure on the line but I will post it when I get home!

I made my own little makeup tray with silver cardstock and craft wire.

I also made the little makeup brush from a skewer that I painted black. I made bristles from the twine that I took apart. I added some pink rhinestones around the bristles and some Pebble's Inc. Glimmer Chalk on the bristles so it would look it was used for blush!

It turns out I can't spell definitely! Luckily, I had time to fix the card  I printed the sentiment on vellum and stitched around the edges. I was glad it went smoothly cause it doesn't always when you're stitching on velum and closing the stitch. Sometimes it will scrunch up at the last spot.

I stamped the base of the card with My Mind's Eye's "Everyday Fun" Stamps.

The Thickers are foam and are called Delight.

Picture this.

Last Sunday, which was the last day of our cruise, I woke up at 4:40am and couldn't go back to sleep. I laid in bed until about 6:30 and finally got up to go get something to eat. While I was eating, I checked my e-mail, which I hadn't got to do in a week! After that I watched the sun rise and it was just breathtaking! Take a look!

After we left our room and went to get my 2nd breakfast and Joey's 1st, lol. While Joey was in the bathroom, I decided to check my e-mail again and found an e-mail that I had always hoped I'd get to see!

Remember Paper Crafts World Cardmaking Day Contest? It turns out that I was one of the winners in the Birthday category! Not only do I get to receive an amazing prize packaged valued at over $400, but I will be published in Paper Crafts Magazine's March/April 2013 issue

My eyes filled up and I couldn't believe it! This is one of those things that I've always wanted but never really thought would happen! When Joey came out of the bathroom, I looked at him with a blank stare and smiled. He probably thought I was crazy, until I handed him my phone so he could read it.

SO EXCITING!

If that isn't enough exciting news, I have more! I am now a staffer at Scrapbook News & Review! It has been quite a week, that's for sure! I am so beyond excited about both of these things, I'm beside myself!
