Santa?

Crate Paper is holding a layout contest on their blog where you post your layout using 50% Crate Paper to a gallery and if you get "Crate Spotted", you have a chance to win a whole collection!

You still have time to go check it out.. it ends the 31st!

Check out the contest, HERE.

For my layout, I used the 6x6 Crate Paper Pad "Peppermint". I've had my eye on it for a while and when I saw it was 50% off at Target, I had to have it! There's even a sheet in there that is all to/from tags!

I have had an idea for using diamond shapes on a layout so I thought this was the perfect time to bring it to life!

I cut all the diamond shapes using my Cricut and the George and Basic Shapes cartridge. I then had the daunting task of laying them down.. it sounds easy, right? wrong! What I should have done is drew a line and went off of that.. but now I know for next time!

I sewed the diamond shapes using my sewing machine.

I used Basic Grey's Bloomers from their Jovial collection.

I used a Simple Stories date sticker, it's a teeny tiny one.. I'm surprised the date fit on it!!

My boyfriend got me 2 grab bags from Elle's Studio for Christmas and these were part of the goodies in it.. I used the Be Merry - 3 inch circles and the Lil' Snippets: Tiny Life Labels.

The American Crafts Thickers are much more glittery in person! They are the Red Lullaby Glitter Thickers, it's a very cute alphabet!

That's my Papa in the photo, my Mom's Dad. This picture was taken when I was 6 months old. My sister "decorated" him. I remember sitting on his back while we watched tv, just combing his hair. He'd let us put clips in it and do whatever we wanted. All I remember is how greasy his hair was, lol. He put something in it to make it that way.

JOURNALING: Papa would let us do anything we wanted to his hair and eyebrows. We would comb it for hours and add clips as we saw fit. His beard was adhered with scotch tape this time!

A couple more Christmas goodies!

I was wrapping some presents the other day... in fact, it was all the goodies that came in the 2 Grab Bags that the boyfriend bought me for Christmas from Elle's Studio. He told me to wrap them.. I knew that he meant wrap the 2 Grab Bags, but I like wrapping, so I wrapped all the things in them individually, lol. 18 little packages in all!

Speaking of little packages.. I couldn't resist. The funny part is she didn't seem to mind one but. Still walked around the house, just slower.

This is my other niece making/eating some Christmas Cookies.. can you see the red frosting on her face?

A couple weeks ago, I had an idea to make a wreath out of Candy Canes. I finally got around to finishing it a couple days ago. I added thick cardboard on the front and back to hold it together. I used an old Kohl's 20% coupon to spread the glue around so I could add some green yarn.

This was the finished project! I loved how it turned out and I was going to add a couple other things on the yarn, like Merry Christmas and a couple goodies just to add some dimension.

As I was taking this picture, I thought to myself, "This is going to be in piece by New Years."

...And then it was. It didn't fall, I had taken it down and the Candy Canes were slick and it slipped, I went to catch it and it shattered. I was bummed but I started laughing. What can ya do! They were fragile piece of candy... at least I got a picture of it before it shattered into a million pieces. My dog, Scruffy was on the other side of the dog and he enjoyed all the Candy Cane that went under the door!!

Have a VERY Merry Christmas!

Christmas Decorations!

Hello Hello!

I wanted to share some Christmas decorations I made this year, in the midst of Wedding goodies!!

I made this ornament LAST YEAR from my boyfriends Mustang key. He had traded it in and forgot he had another key, so I recycled it!

This might be becoming a tradition! Maybe I'll make one every year!

For this years, I used scrabble tiles and glued them together with Glossy Accents. That glue will hold ANYTHING! I use it on all sorts of things around the house because it's so strong. I glued some twine to the back as a hook and that was it. For the rest of the year, I will tape down the twine and have it as a decorations in my room.

I made this banner for my sister for her tree. I used some Kraft Cardstock and my Cricut with the Base Camp cartridge to cute the letters. I also used Fiskar's "Apron Lace" punch for the bottom of each piece. I used KI Memories "Holly Jolly" paper for the bottom as well. I added 2 small eyelets on the top corner of each piece and threaded twine through all of them.

SO busy!

Hello Hello! Sorry for the no posts in over a week! My sister and I have been planning up a storm for my parents surprise vow renewal that happened today!

It was more than perfect. In 1979, they got married in their house, in front of the Christmas tree. My sister and I went to the house, which is literally right around the corner from where we live now and asked if we could have it there. The people who live there now, couldn't have been any nicer. They said of course and they said we could do anything we wanted. Even after it's all said and done, I still can't believe they said yes!

So, I haven't made any cards in over a week! I know.. I can't believe it either!

So, I am going to share some photos from today!! Enjoy! I hope to be back in the swing of things in a couple days.. bare with me!!

Since the house was right around the corner, I made them wear blindfolds! We drove about a bit just to mix them up! I think Dad was enjoying the blindfold a little more than Mom, lol. The string on his broke, so he stuffed them inside his glasses. Does anyone watch Sons of Anarchy? Doesn't he look like Otto like that?

I now pronounce you The Wise's AGAIN. And, Mom fit in her Wedding Dress!

Here's all of us infront of the Christmas tree! You can't see the tree though!

I made Mom's boquet with wire and buttons! You can barely see Dad's boutonniere with his busy shirt!

Some decoration at the house with 2 of the wedding photos!

On to the reception at my sisters house! Here's the Hot Chocolate Bar we set up!

Do you know how many doilies I've sewn together? lol. I may have to count, cause it was a TON! I really like how they looked though!

Our centerpieces are in the picture above. I used fake snow, cinnamon smelling pine cones, frosted branches and branches/pinecone/Christmas decorations! lol. I love how they turned out. Usually projects don't come out the same as they look in my head, but this did and I was so excited that it did!

For the table, I used 3 vintage place mats, fake snow, some more cinnamon smelling pine cones, candles and scrabble tiles saying Love, Marriage, The Wises & We Still Do.

Franciscan China and Mason Jar Glasses... and it works!

These were are place cards.. I used corks and printed some place cards and stamped around them using Autumn Leaves "Fine & Dandy" Stamps. I found the idea with the corks, HERE.

We blew up (next time, I will use helium, I don't know what I was thinking!) and used Zots the first time and duct tape the second time and some stuff fell. Oh well! Most stayed up the second time around! At the bottom are photos of Mom and Dad. We did 25 all together. I found the balloon idea, HERE.

Ohhh I thought this cake would be the death of me! It was fun to make, but I think I'll stick to paper crafts! lol. It was a Carrot Cake with Cinnamon Cream Cheese Frosting! I found the frosting recipe on Pinterest, check it out HERE. So delicious! I also found the patten for the frosting, HERE.

For the cake topper, I used 2 sticks, the kind you use for chocolate molds and such and wrapped it in washi tape! I created little banners that said "We Still Do" and taped them to the sticks.

The last picture of the night!

With that said, I'm off to bed and I can't wait to sleep in! Goodnight... or Good Morning!

Wishing you a wonderful day!

Hello there! Happy Friday! Sorry I've been among the missing.. I had 2 teeth pulled on Tuesday and have been kind of out of it since. I haven't scrapped at all, just been relaxing and such!

For this card I used Clean & Simple's sketch #37 from 2009. LOVE their sketches, I don't care how old they are!!

How cute is this well? SUPER CUTE, right? It's from Avocado Arts' "Wishes & Kind Thoughts".

I used My Little Shoebox and Echo Park for this card.

The top part of the sentiment is from the same stamp set and the bottom half is from Papertrey Ink's "It's a Celebration".

I finished it up with some stitching around the edges and some Chocolate Truffle Trendy Twine with a metal button!

Warm Wishes

This is the sketch I made for the November Card Challenge. Feel free to use it for your own personal use!

This is the card that I made from the sketch. I used Echo Park's "Winter Park" collection.

This cute snowman is from that collection as well. I used a doily behind him since he is made from one! I used "Waterfall" Stickles on his hat for some sparkle.

The Rub-On is from Stampin' Up!'s "Season of Cheer".

I used a zigzag stitch to connect all the different patterned papers.

Novemeber Card Challenge - Color & Lift

I made this card for the November Card Challenge for color, you can see the color, HERE.

For this card I used My Little Shoebox, Sn@p and KI Memories.

I would have never put these colors together on my own, but I love how they look together!!

The thickers are by American Crafts and are called Netmeg.

The "so much" stamp is from My Mind's Eye "Happy Days" Stamps.

I also stitched together where each paper meets.

I made this card for the November Card Challenge for lift. You can see the card we lifted, HERE.

This card is VERY MUCH out of my comfort zone, but I like it!

You can't really see it, but layered on top of the white paper is vellum that has snowflakes embossed in it.

I used My Mind's Eye "For the Record" Card and used Stampin' Up!'s "Season of Cheer" Rub-Ons for the sentiment. I also added some Bling It Rhinestones from Basic Grey.

The little bird is from an old 3 Birds Rub-On set that came with a cute little clipboard and had this little guy on it. I knew it would come in handy one day! I painted him red and covered him in Doodlebug's Sugar Coating Glitter. I gave him a mini silver brad for an eye.

I used my cricut and the Stretch your Imagination cartridge to cut these leaves. I inked them with Peeled Paint Distress Ink and filled in the berries with Christmas Red Stickles.

Sweet Baby BOY

{happy thanksgiving}

I made this card using Clean & Simple's #216 Sketch.

I also made it for the November Card Challenge for Technique. This months technique was Raster Screen and you can find it, HERE.

I Pebbles Ink Shimmer Chalk for it so it was subtle.

For the sentiment, I used American Crafts Sunrise & Emerald Thickers.

I sprayed the Sunrise Thickers with Smooch Spritz's Vanilla Shimmer.

This cute little guy is from Autumn Leaves. I finished up the card with some Chocolate Truffle Trendy Twine, a button and some stitching.

Mac & Cheesin' it up in Toon Town

Hello Hello!!

Today I have a layout I made with a photo I took of my niece at Disneyland, eating some Mac Cheese as she calls it!

This is for the Scrap the Person Before You Challenge on Scrapbook.com. I lifted GMFTS's "Our Summer Place in the Sun - Emerald Lake".

This is another photo I printed using Mo Pho that I printed straight from Instagram.

If you missed that post about it, check it out, HERE.

I used one of my labels from Sn@p.

For the title, I used Amy Tangerine's Muse Thickers.

The "These are the days" label is from Jillibean Soups "Love the..." labels.

The fun mustache paper is from Hambly, who sadly, is either going out of business or already has.

I made my one photo corners by making a 2 inch square, then cutting it in half. I placed it on its side and cut in about 1/2 of an inch and repeated on the other side so everything is even steven!

HAPPY Birthday

I had this idea in my head to make a kid's Birthday card with an arrow of some sort.. this is what I came up with!

I used My Mind's Eye "Happy Days" Stamps from their Kraft Funday collection. I embossed the stamp in clear and repeated it down the paper.

For the sentiment, I used October Afternoon's "Mini Marketplace Alpha Stickers" in green & cream. I also used "Niki Riki" Glitter Thickers.

I added a red ribbon with white stitching on the edges.

I used the great arrow from Fancy Pants' "Snipes & Snails" chipboard pack. I embossed it in light blue and used some Crate Paper behind the stars.

I finished it off by stitching around the edges.

Welcome to the world Taylyn

I made this card for one of my best customers! When I say best, I mean anytime she needs a card, I get a text! I love it! She needed a baby shower card for a little one and requested grey & lavender as those are the colors for the baby's shower and nursery!

I used Clean & Simple's Sketch #56 for this card.

I love how simple this card is and the fact that it's non-traditional colors for a baby shower card.

For the background, I used My Mind's Eye "On The Bright Side - Brown Stripe". I still see grey, but whatever! lol.

I also used Pink Paislee's "Daily Junque - News" paper and Studio Calico's "Classic Calico" 6x6 pad.

I embossed a dandelion from Autumn Leave's "Fine & Dandy" Stamp set in white for a subtle look.

The "Welcome to the World" is from an old G Studio stamp that I found at Michael's for $1. And let me tell you, I got my moneys worth out of that one!

The Thickers are by American Crafts - Amy Tangerine called Muse.

I used some lavender ribbon that I had and finished it off with some stitching and a light yellow button.
