Thanks Cupcake

I was on a roll last night, what can I say? This was a very simple Thank You card. I got that cute Heros Art Cupcake Stamp at a Scrapbook Garage Sale a couple weeks ago. It came with about 8 other stamps and some gems too... and it was $1!! woohoo.

I also changed the bottom of the 3 gems to the size that's on the top cause it looked goofy the way it was.

This card is for EsteeLynn's "Thank You Thank You Thank You" Challenge on Scrapbook.com. It's also for Pile It On Challenge Blog. It's a fun site that I found a couple weeks ago. They give you a challenge, like this week is "Make It Sweet" and you also have to use more than one challenge! Is that right up my alley or what?!

I stamped the imagine on the kraft cardstock, then again on a piece of Core'dinations cardstock. I cut it out and used some pop dots under it. I also used Pebble's Inc. Shimmer Chalk.

I stole it from my sis... shh, don't tell her! I wanted to figure out how to use chalk.. I had no idea how you made it stick! lol, Versmark Ink is the answer for me!

Friends are flowers in life's garden

Have you noticed that Fiskars has a TON of new stuff? If you've been to Joann's recently, I bet you've noticed! They have a bunch of new punches and a bunch (I mean, a BUNCH) of new stamps! Right now they're on sale for 30% off too. I went to Joann's for paper trimmer blades, but they didn't have them... for the 3rd week in a row. So, I came out with stamps, lol. Funny how that works, isn't it?

I got this cute new set, called "Friendship Garden"

You can mix and match flowers, stems and vases. Plus, you can use all those other flower stamps you have with this.. too cool. I got it cause I'm always trying to draw stems and leaves, and it doesn't come out the way I want it!! So, this should help!

I used Day 56, Sketchy Sunday on 365 cards for the sketch of this card.

It is also for Color Throwdown #90. Here's the colors this week..

That green doesn't look so bad in real life! It looks pretty horrible in a picture! Oh well.

Do you like my new ribbon? It's...... burlap! Its pieces that came off piece of burlap and I was getting ready to throw it away and thought "hm... I could use this!".

I used 4 of the stamps on the stamp set and put crackle accents over the flower. Ohh how I love my crackle accents!!

Big Brother Baseball Card

I got an order for a "Congratuations Big Brother" Card. The little boy is 7 and plays baseball, and this is what I came up with.

Yes, I hand stitched the red stitches =]

This is for a friend of the family who just had a little boy. The baby shower was all consturction and trucks and such, so when we found these cute embellishments for $1, I knew I needed them. Infact, I got 3, lol. I really like the trees!

The cloud is from Sassafras Lass.. I used some shimmer chalk on it as well.

5 items on my desk

I hope you're all having a fantastic weekend so far. It's such a nice day here! It says its 68, but I think it's a little warmer than that.

Here's the challenge for this weeks Finally Friday video on Kristina Werner's blog.. and I must say, it's a good one!

CHALLENGE: Create a card using 5 items on your desk or in your craft area. If you a “clean up your mess” crafter, try using 5 items left on your desk before cleaning up. Post an image of your creation to the gallery and select this week’s Finally Friday Challenge and your card will appear at the bottom of this week’s Finally Friday page! :)

If your desk is as messy as mine, you're in luck!

I made a Joy Fold Card and made the card for my cousin, Amanda. I'm real late with this one! Her Birthday was on the 12th. But now she'll get to celebrate all over again when she receives it.

My 5 items

1 Brown Circle Frame
2 Cut out flowers
(I cut them out a couple nights ago to use on a card.. just hadn't figured the rest out)
3 Sticker Label
4 Piece of white string
5 Red Polka Dot Paper
(It was part of a pack of a recycled paper stack I bought)

I used stickles, sepia accents and crackle accents on the flowers and photo corners.

I used pop dots on the flowers so they're make more of a statement!!

Ohhh look at all those stickles and crackle accents!!

This is the first photo corner I made from scratch!!

The inside... It closes with a magnet closure.

Happy Birthday & CT #89

I got an order for a Birthday card for a ladies cousin, so this is what I came up with!

One super cool part about this card is the green card is plantable and will produce butterfly attracting flowers! The plantable cards came with a "how to" paper for each card in the pack.

I used no adhesive, only staples so the recipient can just take off the staples and get to gardening! The inside of the card is a seperate piece also, after the front is taken off, they can easily tape the front to the inside and they still have a card.

This is also for Color Throwdown #89

I used the Poppyseed line from K&Company, I love the colors in this collection. They're darker than pastels, but at the same time, they're still very muted.

I used the big photo turn that says "cousin" on it as the middle flowers leaf. I got the photo turn at Joann's, it came with different family members on each one.

I got the stitching idea for the flowers stems for Kristina Werner's "Gathered Paper Flower" Card

The fibers were given to me by my friend, Amanda, thanks again! I trimmed the fibers to make them shorter because I didn't want them going over the two papers on the left.

My BIG leaf!

I got this $1 Birthday Stamp Set at Michael's.. It's by Studio G and has 2 or 3 other Birthday stamps that came with it. The dots were part of the stamp too. I cut them apart so I could use them in a different way than they had them.

Ohhh what a fun shot. Look at all those layers on the flowers! I used a crocodile texture paper, to add even more texture to the card.

She's cute and I'm not lion!

Klayre and I had a picnic on the front lawn on Monday. Here's a pictures of us... that is her natural smile! lol. I just love it!

I wanted to make her something different for lunch. Toddler food can get boring day after day! So I searched creative toddler foods and this lion came up. I can't find the link though, but when I do, I'll post it. She ate the whole sandwich, but not the carrots! And the M&M's were gone before anything else! Smart kid... she eats dessert (or bassert as she calls it) first!!

Have you heard of The Gourmet Mom on-the-go? She has a bunch of recipes and some cute, creative kids food goodies as well. There's edible crayons (with printable crayon labels! You can even request personal ones) and even PB&J Sushi that I made for the baby a while back. I took it a step further and made a face out of her plate, with the sushi being hair, cottage cheese eyes and a nose and a fruit smile. I e-mailed it to her to thank her for the inspiration and show her what I made and she asked if she could put it on her site.. how exciting! Check it out!

Spring Rolls & a bug-a-boo

I was watching Ellen last week and she had her personal chef, Roberto Martin on and he was making spring rolls. Ohhh they looked so good! So I decided to take a stab at it. They are vegetarian and quite yummy. Then there's the dipping sauce... oh my.

I couldn't find edible rice paper, so I used seaweed sushi wraps instead. So, we had lots of leftover "insides". We poured some of the dipping sauce on it and ate it as salad!!

There's LOTS of cutting veggies, so make sure to give yourself plenty of time!! To make them even healthier, substitute the noodles for Shiratake Tofu Noodles, we found them at Whole Foods.

Drooling yet? Well this will make you stop......... lol.

The baby and I were digging in the backyard *from a hole the dog started* and look what we found... we thought it was a slimey (for those of you who don't get to watch a bazillion episodes of Sesame Street, Slimey is Oscar's worm friend.. you learn something new everyday!! But, it wasn't... it was a centipede!

King Arthur's Carrousel

My sister and I got annual passes to Disneyland after our family went for Branden's (My Brother-In-Law) Birthday in November. The little one is still under 3 so she's free! Of course I have yet to scrap ANY of the million pictures I take each time we go! One of my friends on scrapbook.com, Laurie, wanted to see some Disney layouts, so I finally made one! There are many more to come!!

My layout is VERY loosely based on Sketch 116 from Sketch Inspiration.

Journaling: You really enjoy the carrousel at Disneyland Klayre! You always like to go on this one and on the fishy one at California Adventure. When we're at home and we go down a hill in the car, you say "It's like the merry go round at Disneyland! Up and down". The last time we went on it, you didn't want to sit on a horse, so we sat on the bench and waved to Mommy each time we went around.

I just looove hand stitched circles! I had planned on putting this journaling under the picture to be hidden, but after I saw how my "regular" journaling looked, I changed my mind!!

Can you see the piece of hair? lol, that does not go there! I didn't notice it until I uploaded my photos.. oh well! Speaking of Laurie, she sent me some goodies with that paper I wrote the date on. Thanks again!! These 3 buttons were in my "special button" section. Yes, I have a special button section!! lol. Doesn't everyone?

Welcome to Whoville

For this layout I used the Second Chance Sketch on Sketchy Thursdays.

The photos are of Klayre and I on Christmas of 2008. Doesn't she look like a who from Dr. Seuss with her hair like that?

You're my cup of tea

All my followers are my cup of tea! I want to thank each of you for visiting my blog!! I hope you all had a great Easter with your friends and family. We had a nice day, although it got a bit shakey at around 3ish. We felt the 7.2 Baja California/Mexicali Earthquake. We didn't feel it bad here, infact I was in the bathroom, cutting my nails and Mom was in the kitchen, cooking and she didn't feel it, until she heard me scream down the hallway "uhhh the earth is moving!!" lol. It was funny too, cause Earthquakes don't scare me. Sure, they get your blood flowing, lol, but they don't scare me, and when it started, I looked down the hallway and thought "Should I run into the other room?" If you're wondering... I ran. I've heard that a doorway isn't the safest place (although here I think it is cause all the Earthquake codes we have). But besides that, it was a good Easter.

We have 3 Easter Egg Hunts. The baby found all of hers, then we hid them again!! Then there was the "big kid" egg hunt. Apparently lying was the theme this year... There were 17 eggs hidden, I had 7, and my sister had 7 and my Brother-In-Law had 1, or so he said! There are tons of places to hide eggs in this house, BUT, after all these years, we know all the hiding spots! So we looked.... and looked..... and looked and nothing. This went on for about 20 minutes. My sis and I counted ours again and we each had 7. So I look at Branden (my Bro-In-Law) and he's holding his basket against his chest, so we can't see in it. So I said "How many does Branden REALLY have??" He had 3! lol. It was quite funny.

On to the good stuff! I made this card for the April Card Challenge on scrapbook.com for sketch. Here is the sketch I made... (as you know I use a TON of sketches, so feel free to use this if it gives you some inspiration!)

My Card

I got the background paper from my friend Laurie on scrapbook.com. Check out her lovely creations in her gallery! She sent me a "goodie bag" if you will. It's funny, she sent me all goodies that I would have personally bought myself.

HAPPY EASTER!

Happy Easter

I hope you all enjoy this day with your loved ones!

I have a couple things to share... first off is my first video I edited (sorta, kinda) of the little one! I'm going to make her her own youtube channel so we can share her videos with friends and family that don't live close to us. We're still trying to think of a cute name for her channel, so the first one went up on mine. Some day soon I hope to make some card videos.. but until then, enjoy this one of the little goof ball!!

Ok, I don't know how to link it to my youtube, so the video shows up.......... so I'll do it the easy way.

Be sure to pause my music player at the bottom of my blog so you can hear it!!

I also wanted to share the card I made for Klayre. It's for the April Card Challenge on scrapbook.com. It's for the bonus category, to make an Accordian Tag Card. It was in the 2006 March/April issue of Paper Crafts magazine.

I used both kinds of kraft cardstock (from Joanns and Stampin Up!) to show you the difference in color. Quite a difference, don't you think?

I added 2 more "tags" to make it long enough for her name. She seems to think her name is spelled "Kyre" or "Kyreyre", lol.

I put magnets on the back of the small tags and the front of the big tags so maybe it will get her to add the "L" and the "A"!!

Since I needed to attach to "big" tags, I used some eyelets and ribbon.
