Not Sure...

Do you ever make a card and just want to take it apart? That's kinda how I feel about these two. But I've come to learn that the cards that aren't my favorite are usually the ones that others like the most. Weird how that works, isn't it?

It's also a sign that I need to make a layout or two.. it's a vicious cycle! lol.

I used Mojo Monday's #150 sketch.

The next card is from a Card Recipe on 365 Cards - Day 160.

Card Recipe

5x5 Card - got it!

2 3x3 Patterned Papers - got it!

Sentiment - "Have A Merry One" was too light, so I went over it with a Gel Pen.

2 Stamped Images - The tree was stamped, but the same thing happened with the sentiment. The star is also stamped and I cut it out.

2 Buttons - Both are on the Blossoms

4 Blossoms - Instead of doing 4 seperate ones, I doubled them up.

A little birdie told me...

I made this card for Color Throwdown #44. Here's the colors...
I made this little birdie on the Cricut using the Cherry Limeade Light cartridge.

I got the wood grain rub on at Big Lots. It's actually a 12x12 rub-on! I just cut it smaller to fit my card.

I love these little safety pins by Tim Holtz! Recently Joann's has started carrying more than just Distress Ink Pads from Tim Holtz.. they have a bunch of goodies!

I used Stickles on the beak, eye and feet.

On the cheek, wing and tail, I used Sepia Accents and added a pinch of white glitter.

I used the George and Basic Shapes cartridge to cut this little talking bubble. The font is from Fonts101.com and is called Monogram.

Forever

When I saw Sketch #66 at Unscripted Sketches, I got so excited! I'm a dork, I'm aware! So needless to say, I used that sketch right away!

I love how this card looks! It's like the scrapbook layouts with part of the die cut paper on one side, then it looks like it wraps all the way around.. love it!

This is also for Just Us Girls #44, to make a Wedding Card.

Since I didn't have any of those super cute little Jenni Bowlin butterflies, I decided to make my own. For the last 4 months I've been holding my friend Renee's Cricut Cartridge hostage. Ok, maybe not hostage, but it sure feels that way! It's the A Child's Year Cartridge, and I used the Card option where it cuts a card of a butterfly, then just cut them apart. I glued on some beads with Sepia Accents.

I stamped on Vellum with Frost White - Color Box Pigment Ink. I used Inkadinkado's "Sketchy Flourishes" for the stamps. I just randomly placed them and was VERY lucky that I didn't mess up! I mean.. I was very careful and I knew it would turn out perfect............ you can decide which you'd like to believe!! =]

I used a $1 Studio G stamp from Michaels. I've had this forever.. pun intended!! I really have though and I don't think I've ever used it!

Wedding Goodies!

One of Elissa's friends, Natalie, took pictures at the Wedding. She was nice enough to share them with me since I didn't get many myself of the stuff I made.

First up is the Table Name Cards.. all the tables were named after towns in Italy. They were doubled, so it looks exactly the same on the other side.

Have you ever seen such cute Place Cards!? Me either! I used my Cricut and the Cherry Limeade Light Cartridge to cut out the lemons and the Doodle Charm Cart. for the leaves. I inked around the lemons with Scattered Straw Distress Ink.

They made these cute boxes and put styrofoam in them so the lemons would stand up.

The family made the little bottles of Olive Oil, fused with herbs! How cute is that bottle? I made the menus. Loving them still!

This is the front cover of the programs.

The program had 3 pages to it.

The first was vellum. On the other side was regular paper with the list of everyone in the Wedding Party.

The 2nd & 3rd were Thank Yous to everyone in the Wedding Party or to those who helped make the day possible.

The last page was vellum, it was a "In Memory Of.." page.

And that's it! I hope you enjoyed them as much as I enjoyed making them!

and she's back!

Guess who's back....! Finally rested and back in the swing of things!!

I must say, I truly had a blast doing the wedding goodies for Elissa's Wedding. It was great getting to know her and her family as well. The Wedding was today and I can't wait to hear how beautiful it was! Just from hearing about it and see bits and pieces of it, I can only imagine how gorgeous it was!

Here's a picture from the 1st night of putting stuff together. That night we did all the menus!

Elissa, Paulette and Elissa's Mom, Annette

I didn't take a picture of the ribbon, but it was 85 yards of the green ribbon you see in the picture above, cut into 17 inch strips! It was a lot!!

Here's the paper, just for the menus!

4 inches of paper, just for the menus!

So like I said, I had a blast, but I did miss making cards! The funny thing was I wanted to stamp something... and I don't even stamp that much! Guess it was just something different from what I was doing!!

I have 2 cards to share with you tonight.

Both of the cards are for the Card Challenge on Scrapbook.com that I host.

This one was for July's challenge, but I just finally finished it today! It was for theme, to make a card with something food related on the front and a recipe on the inside.

Inside is a recipe for Whiskey Sours, the best recipe ever I might add! I also made it into a magnet, so you can put it on your fridge and it's always right there when you need to find it.

This was also for The Sweet Stop's July 17th Challenge. I finally got a chance to upload it.

This card is for the August challenge, for product, which was to use pins.

I used 2 sewing pins!

Don't worry... I'm still alive!

Still alive and 17.5 pounds lighter!! Yay!

Since the 8th, I've been helping a friend of a friend, Elissa, (who is now a friend!) with goodies for her Wedding. She asked me to do the Programs, Menus, Place Cards & Table Name Cards.

So hopefully by Thursday or Friday I will be back in the swing of things and be back blogging every couple days! I hope to have picutres of all the wedding goodies soon too!!

A couple more!

I made this Thank You Card for the July Card Challenge on Scrapbook.com

It's for the color category, to use navy blue, pink and white. I love that color combo!! That houndstooth paper is really hot pink, but it shows up purple-ish!

I made this card for my sister for her Birthday. Don't tell her I told you, but she turned 29 this year, so I thought this sentiment was perfect, lol!!

I used the Sketch 101 on Got Sketch?

For Annette & Elissa

This is the sample menu that I showed you yesterday, with the ribbon in a knot. With a knot, I would need 100 yards of ribbon.

This is the other ribbon idea.. this one would take 65 yards of ribbon. I bought the eyelets today (they're the silver round item that the ribbon is going through). I bought them just in case, since they were on sale and it ends tomorrow.

Merry Christmas.... in July

Speaking of things in months theyre not supposed to be in... I went to Target the other day with my Grandma to buy the little one a present since she's almost potty trained!! Go Klayre!! And Tif!! Tif is my sis... she deserves credit too, right?! =] But anyway! School stuff was already out! It's the beginning of July for Goodness Sake! I love school stuff as much as the next guy, but that's a little soon, even for me!

I made this card a couple weeks back for Kristina Werner's Finally Friday Video Challenge.

I loved her design so much that I lifted it. I also made 11 of these (except the tree is different) for Operation Write Home.

I LOVE how the trunk of the Christmas tree came out! I used Core'dinations and sanded it.

Here is a tutorial I made on how to make any shape have a little more detail, like I did with the Christmas Tree on the card. Check out Made Fresh Daily on youtube for some more fun tutorials! If there's ever anything you want to see a tutorial on, just leave me a comment and let me know, I'd be happy to make it for you!

Corn on the Cob

I created this layout for 2 challenges and used a sketch for it as well.
The 2 Challenges:

Sketch is from July 2010 PageMaps

I got both of these fonts FREE from fonts101.com. The 2 fonts are called Blackout and FB Lipgloss.

I'm sorry..... thanks..

I have 2 cards to share with you today, but first I have a picture of my niece on the 4th of July!!

She wanted her little Eeyore to get his picture taken instead. She's put him on the grass then run to the porch, so this was the best picture I could get! I shortened the straps on her dress with my new Pixie and added a cute little button for decoration!!

This card isn't for any challenges.. if you can believe that! I wanted to make an elegant I'm Sorry card, which can be used as a Sympathy Card.

The Tree stamp is by Inkadinkado.

I made this card for Kristina Werner's Finally Friday Video Challenge, to make a thank you card.

I wanted to make the card with a teenager type feel, so I used the shorthand for thanks when texting.

Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue

I know it's only the 2nd, but Happy 4th of July almost!!

Look at this picture of the baby! All kinds of chub going on! She used to have so many little rolls, lol. Now she's a skinny minnie! This picture was taken on her first 4th of July, when she was 8 months old. I know it looks like the picutre of the layout is lighter on the right, but its really the paper!

I used Sketch 100 from Got Sketch? This is also for the July Baby Challenge on scrapbook.com

For the title I used a song title from Toby Keith.

I made these two lollipop flowers!

A couple weeks ago I saw a dress for the baby. It was a navy blue dress with white stars and red ribbon ties for the straps. I went back a couple days ago with Klayre and it was no longer there! But we found another cute one.. and it's lighter material, so I'm kinda glad it wasn't there!! I made her this matching hair clip to wear.

I used my Pixie to sew!! So exciting!! I also shortened the straps on her dress with it!
