Happy Valentine's Day Joey!

This is the card I made the boyfriend for Valentine's! Do you see what I did? Or didn't do? I had a total sewing fail! I sewed the 3 sides and then needed to put all the stuff on first so I could sew over the papers on the right.. so my plan was to do that. I put it all on and forgot.

He wouldn't have even noticed if I hadn't said anything, but by that time I had already posted my #sewingfail on Instagram!!

For this card I used Basic Grey's "Basic Manila" 6x6 stack for the background.

Both of the blue papers are from My Mind's Eye. I made the Polaroid out of Core'dination's "White Wash" paper.

This card is for the February Card Challenge for Sketch. Here's the sketch I made for this month..

I turned the sketch on it's side for my card.

TO MAKE YOUR OWN POLAROID

I eyeballed the size and used a ruler to make the square on the back. I cut a "X" and cut at the lines!

I then inked the edges and a little bit of the center with a make up sponge, using Vintage Photo Distress Ink. Perfect name, right?

The awesome detail stamp is from Elle's Studio. Go check out (and buy) some of their products if you haven't already! It's a great company and the products are just plain awesome.

The wooden heart veneer is from Studio Calico. I inked it up with some red ink!

Have you ever had an epic fail like this on a project? If so, please share it so I feel better! lol.

February Card Challenge - Theme & Lift

For the next 4 days until Valentine's Day, I'm going to share some Valentine's Day cards a day with you!

I made this card for the February Card Challenge for the Lift category. We lifted Andrea Ewen's "Be My Valentine" card. You can see her beautiful card, HERE.

Purple and yellow were requested for this card! Can you tell?

I used Pink Paislee's "Inspire", "Junque" and KI Memories "Holly Jolly".

The cute little note circle is a Chic Tag from Elle's Studio.

The xoxo is also from Elle's Studio's new line called "You & Me", from their Lil' Snippets: Labels.

I embossed a flower and added a rhinestone brad to the middle. I stitched around the edges to finish it off.

 I LOVE THIS CARD!

This is one of my favorites I've ever made.

I used The Sweet Stop's Sketch #196 for this card.

Do you love that arrow paper as much as I do? It's from My Mind's Eye Lucky In Love collections and it's called "Cupid's Arrow".

The pink polka dot paper is from My Mind's Eye's "The Sweetest Thing" 6x6 pad.

These people stamps are from Autumn Leaves and it's called "Family". There's even a dog in the set! I embossed it with copper embossing powder. I overlapped their hands so it looks like their holding hands.

The I adore you is also from Elle's Studios You & Me collections from their Lil' Snippets: Labels.

These awesome wood grain Pennants are from My Mind's Eye collection, "Miss Caroline" and their called  Howdy Doody Baby Stamps. It's a super cute stamp set, check it out, HERE. I sewed it together to make a little banner and used pop dots underneath to give it some dimension.

I as always stitched around the edges!

Owls!

Owls are all the trend right now and can we blame them?! They're very cute.. I took this picture at our local thrift store when I went to look around one day.

It's for the Photo Inspiration for the February Card Challenge on Scrapbook.com.

I have a funny story that goes along with that day and that shop. My parents collect old things. For instance, we have an old corn sheller, 8 ft. white old shutters, an old typewriter, and a ton of canisters on shelves and that's just in our living room!

So, Mom is big on canisters, she has them from all over the place, so much so that she didn't realize my sister stole 4 of them, but that's a story for another day!

I saw a bread box at the shop that matched canisters she had... but, I didn't get it. I showed her the picture a couple days later and she was stunned I didn't get it! My Mom was going to that end of the valley but had an appointment first so my Dad told me go get it before she does! So, I went and got it and I told the guy "My Mom will probably be in here in about an hour... I was never here!" He said "Okay, I'll tell her a lady bought it earlier".. I said "No! A man.... a man with blonde hair, that way it rules all of us out!" lol. Dad gave it to Mom for Valentine's and she was VERY surprised!!

I downloaded the cute owl imagine from Paper Craft Connection. I don't use copics and I can't shade to save my life, but I tried with some colored pencils anyway!

I used Bo Bunny's "Basic Dots" and Basic Grey's "Hopscotch" for this card.

My niece wanted to make one too, well, really, she just wanted to color the owls but when I suggested she put it on a card she was all for it.

I let her use my "good paper" (I have a spot for the paper she can use and she knows she has to ask me first if she wants to use any in the "good" bag.), so she was very excited about that!

She put dog bone paper because she was making it for my dog, Scruffy. =]
