Happy Birthday - Best Wishes

I made this card for the September Card Challenge, which ends today! I didn't finish all 8 cards this month, I thought I had, but I forgot about the lift category, oops! Maybe next month!

This card is for 2 categories of the challenge, Bonus, which was to use Newspaper on your card and for Sketch, which you can see below.

I used Core'dinations and Fancy Pants' "Lilac House Cards" paper for this card.

This is quite a bulky flower.. It's about an inch high! Not too sure how this one is going to fit into an envelope! Luckily, since it's made out of newspaper, it can be squished down and will keep it's shape!

If you'd like to try out these newspaper flowers, check out my video in my sidebar to the left!

Instead of inking them this time, I used Chocolate Covered Cherries Glimmer Mist from Tattered Angels.

For the sentiment, I used Papertrey Ink's "It's a Celebration". I added some stitching and a pink button with some Krazy for Kraft Trendy Twine to finish it off!

Quarter Auction

In July I participated in a Quarter Auction. Have you ever heard of it? I hadn't either, but it was really a lot of fun. I'll get to that in a second though! First, I want to show you my newly painted drawers that my parents brought back from Ohio for me! Before my parents go to Ohio to visit family, they ask if there's anything we want from back there. Their garage sales are nothing compared to ours in California!

This year, I asked for drawers to use for my cards at crafts shows and such. I got the idea on Pinterest which you can see, HERE.

I knew I wanted to paint them with chalkboard paint, find it HERE (Pinterest again!) and all you need is craft paint and non-sanded grout, which is about $1.50 at your local hardware store.

Since the color I was painting them was so light, I first spray painted them then put 2 coats of Chalkboard paint over it.

This is how they turned out! Cute, right?

Here's my set up! As you can see, it was before I changed my shop name!

Here's my set up, up close!

Laundry Labels

My sister asked me to make labels for her laundry baskets so here they are!

I used Accent Essentials Cricut cartridge for the top note shape.. I love this shape!

I then used a white gel pen to go around the edges. The only reason that I didn't sew it on the sewing machine is cause I am horrible at doing this shape or circles! Straight lines for this girl!

I then added 2 silver eyelets which my sister will thread twine through to hang on her baskets.

Here they all are!

Bar Code Birthday Card

Happy Sunday!

I completely forgot to set up a post for yesterday, sorry about that!

For this card, I used a font as my focal point. The font is called "Barcode Font" and you can find it, HERE.

I'm not positive on the paper... I'm pretty sure it's We R Memory Keepers though!

I roughed up the edge with an edge distresser, stitched around the edges and added some Strawberry Cupcake Trendy Twine (check them out if you haven't already!) with a button of which I adore the color!

Love you to the MOON & back

A customer requested a Birthday card for her 18 year old Grand-daughter. She always said the saying "I love you to the moon & back" to her so she wanted that on the front of the card.

This is for the September Card Challenge for Technique which is Embossing Resist.

I used Tim Holtzs' Distress Ink in Broken China to do the sky. I used a make up sponge to sponge blue around the whole background. Then, the further from the moon I went, the darker I made the ink.

I stamped on some Wash Tape and made a little banner with the Birthday Girl's name on it.

I knew I wanted the title to more than one font. I used some KI memory stickers (the pink), some October Afternoon's Mini Market stickers and some Niki Riki Yellow Thickers.

I made a mistake & I'm sorry

I made this card for a customer that said they had made a big mistake and needed a card to show that.

I made a flower out of pencil erasers and stitched the stem and the leaf, filling the leaf in with Pebbles Inc. shimmer chalk.

I printed the sentiment and stapled it on with Making Memories staples and stapler. I also added some Heidi Swapp Decorative Tape under it and finished it off with stitching around the card.

A special sunday post!

I made this card for Mojo Monday #258

This is also another for the September Card Challenge for Product, which is washi tape.

It's for a friend who will give it to her husband and will be celebrating their 3rd Wedding Anniversary this week!

I love.. layout + My Birthday Post..3 months later!

I made a banner out of Elle's Studio's "Sweet Summer Scallops"

For the title, I used printed chipboard Thickers called Forrest.

For the list I used Echo Park's "Playground" and printed my list on the computer.

So, my Birthday was on June 15th, and I've yet to share the photos, so here they are!!

The appetizer before my Birthday dinner! salami, basil, tomato and mozzarella cheese! YUM.

For my Birthday dinner, I requested Linguini and Clam Sauce, YUM, again!

YUM, yet again! I found this recipe on Pinterest and it was even better than expected!

Me, the boyfriend and the famous Birthday Hat! Everyone has to wear this hat when it's their Birthday.. but it always seems to disappear around October for my Mom's Birthday.. pretty convenient, huh? Well, one year, she was in Ohio for her Birthday, so I mailed it to my cousin in Ohio and while they were singing Happy Birthday, she came up behind her and put it on her head.. she was very surprised!

My sister had the great idea to tape together all the money she and my brother-in-law gave me. She didn't put a little piece on each one... she taped it from end to end, lol. I used it as a scarf before it took 5 of us to get them all apart!

Joey & I in Dana Point on the 16th! It was really foggy that day so you can't see the ocean in the background!

My favorite place to eat in Dana Point is called Stuft Pizza.. it's SO good!

We ended the night, roasting marshmallows on the beach!!

HAPPY Birthday

This is one of those cards that I can't believe I made! It all started with the arrow. I knew I wanted to wrap it with washi tape, but I didn't know anything I wanted to do besides that!

This is for the September Card Challenge for Product, which is Washi Tape. I used 3 different Washi Tapes on this card. The teal and white stripe, the random letter one at the bottom right of the yellow paper and the wood grain that says "HAPPY".

I got all 3 of these wonderful tapes on Ebay from tanmill10ml, check out her shop called "Scrap and Die". She's away right now, but favorite it for later! She answered my questions quickly and shipping was amazingly fast. It came from Australia to California in no time!

This is also for the September Card Challenge for Color.. here's the color palette this month.

Since I'm such a perfectionist, (thanks for that Mom & Dad..) I had to line up the stripes! If you want to decorate some chipboard with washi tape, the easiest way is to cover it, turn it over and use an exacto knife to cut the excess off. As my niece would say, easy peasy lemon squeezy!

I used American Craft's "Remarks" - Sweet Tooth, for the cupcake. I added Ranger's Glossy Accent's on the frosting to give it some gloss!

I distressed the edges and tore it a bit so I could "sew it" back up!

I wanted to do something different for the HAPPY part of my card. I knew I wanted to use the wood grain and was so excited when I figured out how I was going to do it!

I used my clicky label maker (I don't know the actual name for it!) It's the kind where you load the tape, turn the wheel to the letter, click and keep doing that until you're finished! Before I loaded the tape, I put some washi tape on it and trimmed it to fit. I loaded it in and clicked away. I then rubbed some Vintage Photo Distress Ink on the top of it so the letters would stand out more.

I used the new Amy Tangerine Thicker's from the line Sketchbook, called Woodgrain.

Thank You!

More lifts from Pinterest? You betcha! There's so many great cards on there.. I just can't stop!

I lifted Cassie D'ambrosio's "Congratulations" card and turned it into a Thank You.

I used all Basic Grey's "Nook & Pantry" line. The stamp is from Fiskars.

you color my world SO BRIGHT

I made this for the September Card Challenge for Photo Inspiration.

I cut the hearts using my Cricut and the Doodle Charms cartridge. I used Crate Paper, Echo Park, K&Co. & October Afternoon.

I finished it up with some stitching, a button and three yellow 1/2 pearls!

a friend touches your heart

I lifted this card from Pinterest... it's becoming a trend, isn't it? =]

I made this card for the September Card Challenge for Theme, which is Friendship.

I absolutely love this cloud paper by Echo Park's line "Everyday Electric". It's super cute how all the clouds have patterns in them!

I used Bo Bunny's Double Dot card stock in Blush for the heart. I used the Doodle Charms Cricut cartridge to cut it.

I found this quote on Scrapbook.com's "Resource" section! They have a ton of different categories to find the right quote you need!!

AVM monogram Card

I made this card for a customer that wanted a Monogram Wedding card.

For the background paper, I used an old Basic Grey line called Two Scoops. I layered vellum on top of it to give it an even softer look and stitched around the edges.

I layered the Monogram and ran the vellum through the printer a couple times to make the "V" darker.

The ruffled crepe paper garland is from GCD Studios.

I'm stuck on you

Have you noticed a few changes around here? Okay, maybe a lot of changes! I decided to change the name of my Etsy shop to My Wise Designs, so I changed my blog along with it. Check out my Etsy shop for my new banner and my new avatar! If you're looking for one for your shop, please check out Erin Bradley Designs on Etsy! There are two reasons why I went with her... one, she had the lowest prices.. two, she had the cutest designs! She went above and beyond to help me because after she finished, instead of just sending them to me and that being it, she said that one of the words didn't look right and if I wanted it changed to a different font, to let her know. So, she changed that! Then I added something on another one and she was more than happy to change it as well.

Made Fresh Daily Monthly Challenge
I am going to stop my blog challenge for a while and maybe pick it back up one day!

On to the card!

This card was featured in Scrapbook News and Review's July issue.

I used Crate Paper's "Paper Hearts" and Echo Park's "Winter Park". I used an edge distresser to rough up the edges of the Echo Park paper.

My boyfriend got a new shirt and I was noticing the pins in his room.... he saw me looking at them and said "you can have them" hahaha. He knows me too well. So that's where the little silver pins came from!
