Card Challenge - Theme & Favorites

 Hello Hello!

I'm not feeling the best this week, so I'm sorry posts have been slow! I caught a cold on Friday, thankfully it wasn't all that nonsense that's going around right now!! And now my legs are killing me.. when it rains, it pours =]

I did want to share that I jumped on the Project Life Bandwagon! I've been going back and forth for months trying to decide if I wanted to add yet something else to my project list. I finally decided to and I'm glad I did! I will share my first page soon!

On to the cards!

Both of these cards are the for January Card Challenge on Scrapbook.com. This card is for Theme, which is Retro this month.

Those cute Salt & Pepper Shaker stickers are from Echo Park's "Happy Days" Collection. There's so many yummy retro stickers on this sheet!

I used Clean & Simple's Sketch #224 for this card.

I used some Amy Tangerine's "Prime Time" from Ready, Set, Go along with My Mind's Eye's "Nostalgia".

I put some pop dots under the stickers and finished the card up with a sentiment I printed on my computer and of course, some stitching.

This card is for the Favorites category, to lift a card you've had in your favorites. I found this card on Pinterest months ago. It was made by J. Day Designs, check it out, HERE.

I used some Strawberry Shortcake Trendy Twine and added a button and some faux stitching.

Happy Valentine's Day!

I've been making lots of Valentine's Day Cards and this one was ordered by a friend of my boyfriends.

She wanted a buffalo on the card for a personal reason, so that's what I made happen!

I will admit, I panicked at first thinking about putting a Buffalo on a Valentine's card, but at that same time, the ones that challenge me, I usually love the most!

For the Buffalo, I simply searched it on Google and printed it, easy peasy!

I used a 2 1/2 circle punch to punch a circle in my wood grain paper. I adhered the Buffalo and used pop dots on the wood grain paper for some dimension.

How cute is that heart doily paper?! So cute, right? It's from Crate Paper's "Paper Hearts" collection.

I of course finished it off with some stitching!

Until next time!

I'm LOST without you

Did you watch that crazy show called LOST? I did, and even though every week I had more questions than the last and the fact that I still don't quite understand the ending, I loved the show! Not to mention, Matthew Fox shirtless. Need I say more?!

What in the world does that have to do with my card today? Well.. I'm a little obsessed with fonts. Especially free fonts! I got the Dharma Initiative font HERE.

I printed it in a light grey so it would be subtle yet you'd still be able to see it.

I used some washi tape, added some stitching and that was it!

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!

Hello Hello! I submitted this card for the July/August Issue of Paper Crafts Magazine, using their sketch, but wasn't chosen. But that means, I get to share it with you, NOW!

I was really proud of this card.. I thought it was pretty clever!

The Winner stamp is from Stampin' Up!'s "You're Amazing" Stamp set.

I head embossed it Ala Mode's red embossing powder.

That's really a turkey. Shh, don't tell! It's from KI Memories' "Fall Icons".

I stamped it on the white cardstock, then again twice on American Craft's "Prime Time" paper. I cut it out, adhered it and then used pop dots with the wing.

For Dinner, I used American Craft's Ginger Stamp set. One of my favs!

I used Studio Calico's "Classic Calico" behind the white cardstock.

I finished it off with some stitching, a metal button and some Berry Red Trendy Twine.

CHA! Part 2!

Hello Hello!! Today I'm going to share pictures with you of people I met at CHA!!

Are you ready for this? Make sure you're ready, cause it's going to be awesome!

The beautiful Teresa Collins!

It's blurry and my eyes are closed, but that's okay, cause it's TIM HOLTZ!

Remember when I met him at Disneyland? If you missed it, you can see the layout HERE.

Kelly from Lawn Fawn! I had to thank her for the stamps that were in my prize package from Paper Crafts! I got all tongue tied though. What can you do, I was very excited, lol. Lawn Fawn has a TON of great stamps coming out! And I'm sure you've thought it already, but how cute is her dress?!

The one and only Heidi Swapp!

I did two make and takes with her and it was awesome using products with the person who designed them!

Elle from Elle's Studio! You guys know how much I love Elle's Studio! It was a delight to meet her in person!

Miss Project Life herself, Becky Higgins!

CHA!!

 Hello Hello!

I am back from CHA and it was everything I dreamed it would be! The only reason I got to go was because a fellow Scrapbook News & Review staffer who was going had a designer drop out. Pure luck right there.

Thank you Teresa for getting me in, it was truly an amazing weekend for me!

Here's my badge... ek!

On Saturday, I woke up at 6:40am, after only getting about 3 hours sleep since I was so excited about the next day! Since I was going to be in Anaheim early, I figured I'd try to make Rope Drop at Disneyland. I had tried 3 times before and missed it 3 times. This time, I made it and it was great to see!!

After that, I defeated Zurg and rode through space, all before 9:30am!

With Rope Drop & CHA, I got to cross off 2 things on my bucket list on Saturday! How awesome is that?

Then it was on to CHA!

I'm going to share my pictures with the Paper Crafts Magazine staff first!

I met the sweet Teri Anderson!

Miss Moxie Fab herself, Cath Edvalson!!

And last but certainly not least, Susan R. Opel!

As you can imagine I was freaking out quite a bit!

From my perspective, I was in a room full of people I've looked up to for years and I was getting to meet them all. Every time I think about this past weekend, I just shake my head in disbelief.

More to come on Saturday!

So Sorry For Your Loss

I made this card for the January Card Challenge for Lift. This month we lifted TesaB's "Happy Valentine's Day" card, which you can see, HERE.

The sentiment is from Avocado Arts "Wishes & Kind Thoughts" set.

Don't you love the red paper? I do! It's from Basic Grey's "Clippings" collection. I used decorative scissors around the heart in white.

I traced the red heart on white paper, then cut around it so the decorative scissors barely touched the line I drew. It worker perfectly!

How cute is that pup? Sadly, this card is for a friend who lost her dog last week. The stamp is from Sandylion. I colored her in with water color colored pencils and gave her little angel wings. I finished it off with some washi tape, a button and some rhinestones.

Happy Birthday Lorelye

I made this card for my boyfriend's niece, Lorelye. I used Clean & Simple Sketch #220 from December that I wanted to use but couldn't cause I was so super busy!

This card is also for the January Card Challenge for Product, which is Pearls.

The back ground paper is from American Crafts and it's called Prime Time. The 9 is almost from American Crafts from their Dear Lizzy collection called Merry.

The pink washi tape is from Queen & Company and I'm not positive about the blue.

I used Fiskar's Apron Lace for the bottom.

The Happy Birthday stamp is from Papertrey Ink's "It's A Celebration" and the stamps I used to do her name are American Craft's "Ginger" set.

I finished it off with stitching, pearls and tiny rhinestones.

Get Well Soon

I made this card using Clean & Simple #222 sketch.

It's also for the January Card Challenge for Technique which is Paper Flowers. You can find the tutorial, HERE.

I used Inkadinkado's "Sketchy Flourishes" with white ink, which you can see better in person, promise! I finished off the flourishes (say that 3 times fast!) with some tiny rhinestones.

I used Crate Paper's "Farmhouse" for the background paper and added some dark grey and used Fiskar's "Apron Lace" punch on it. I added some washi tape and some stitching to finish off the card.

The sentiment is by Hero Arts!

It's your Birthday

I think I'm finally getting all caught up with everything! About time, right?

I have some SUPER EXCITING NEWS! This weekend, I'll be attending CHA in Anaheim! It's just plain luck that I'm getting to go at all since it's not opened to the public. I've wished I could do this for years, I can't believe I finally get to go and I am already overwhelmed at the thought of the people I know are going to be there! Can't even wait!

Follow me on Instagram for some sneak peeks! Username: tarynne419

For the first card of the year, I used the sketch for the January Card Challenge on Scrapbook.com that I came up with. As always, you can find them in the left column! If you're looking for my 2011 & 2012 sketches, follow my Card Sketch Pinterest Board, HERE.

For this card, I used Basic Grey's "Clippings" and My Mind's Eye "Nostalgia" 6x6 pads, which I got from my Secret Santa, Amanda!! Thank You!!

An elephant in a party hat.. need I say more? You can't look at that without cracking a smile, it's impossible! This cutie is from Stampin' Up!'s "You're Amazing" stamp set, which you can see, HERE.

The grey paper from the circle is from Pink Paislee.

I added a couple pop dots under the party hat to give it some dimension.

The It's your Birthday stamp is from Lil' Inker Designs' Acorn Sentiments, which you can see, HERE.

Favorite Blankie

 HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I hope you and your family a blessed and healthy 2013!

I made this layout for the December Scraplift the Person Before You challenge and the OHH Baby Challenge on Scrapbook.com. I lifted Scrap-Police with her layout called "Vroom". You can see her wonderful layout HERE.

For this layout, I used a picture of my niece using her favorite blankie. She always sleeps with her fingers through it. If she's almost asleep and you lift her blanket so she can put her little fingers through it, she is out immediately right after!

The blue background paper {on top} is called Day Time Digits from My Mind's Eye from their Good Day Sunshine collection. The other side of that paper is a distressed alphabet, which is SO CUTE! The bottom background paper is from KI Memories and is called Vineyard from their Posh collection.

For the title, I used old Heidi Swapp chipboard alphabet and some foam Thickers from American Crafts called Giggles.

I used Mossy Mist Smooch Spray on a arrow chipboard piece from Fancy Pants.

The love tag is from My Mind's Eye.

I'm Tarynne and I'm a name dropper.

The grey and white tag is also from My Mind's Eye. I bought a HUGE bag of tags from My Mind's Eye on a deal a day site. I added the date with a date stamp on Simple Stories Sticker label.

JOURNALING: This is your most favorite blankie! Mommy's friend Lori made it for you before you were born and you took right to it. If someone puts it on their shoulder, you lay your head right down. You won't go to sleep unless your fingers are through the blanket and sometimes you do the same with your toes.

I printed the journaling on an Elle's Studio tag from the pack called Daily Notes.

I added some washi tape to the bottom and finished it off with some Bloomers from Basic Grey from their Sweet Threads collection.
